I have been getting these phone calls, some three or four times a day!  I want on the no call list, so I did push #1 for that.  Like all the rest of the comments it is all hours of the day and night, I am sick of it.  I just signed up for the St Louis Post Dispatch Paper around Christmas, thinking of canceling it already!  Doesn't make sense they would start that with a new customer.

Received my first call from this number today.  Funny since we just registered for the STL Newspaper last weekend...[***] sold my phone number apparently.  I called the number back and attempted to add my number to the DNC list, but when I entered it in the recording said "You entered... ________" and did not repeat my number back to me.  I left a message on the recording demanding that they manually enter my phone number onto the DNC list and threatened to file a law suit against them if they call me again.

I called and tried to have my number placed on the DNC list.  I pressed 2, entered my number, but I know it did not function properly as the automated system would state back to me "You entered ___" and would not repeat my number back as if I entered nothing.  I finally went to stltoday.com, went onto the 'contact us' portion of the website and submitted a message via the website explaining my situation, and demanding a manager or supervisor contact me back via email only, advising that they needed to be careful in how they handled my complaint as it would decide whether or not if they retained or lost a customer.  

I received an email the next morning from one of the customer service managers apologising for the intrusive evening calls, stating that they do follow up calls with new subscriptions to make sure there are no issues with the routing or delivery, advised that she was reporting the phone system not working properly regarding the hang ups and DNC system, and that she would manually enter my number onto the DNC waiting list.  

That same night I received another call from 314-340-8000 around 7pm.  I immediately emailed the manager back and demanded my subscription be canceled, which she has done and issued me a full refund for any unused service.  I would suggest going this route for anyone who is still suffering from these phone calls.
