- MikeHuntletonWarning! This is a Social Security Administration Scam number!
Robo scam message:
Listen to messageQuote:This is to notify you that due to a certain suspicious activities related to your social security number, we have been forced to suspend your social security number with immediate effect, due to all this your Social Security benefits will be canceled until further clearance, in case if you feel this is an error you may contact Social Security Administration 866-402-9881, I repeat 866-402-9881
Scammers don't have a clue how the real Social Security Administration works and they are hoping you don't either.
The Social Security Administration:
-Does NOT suspend Social Security Numbers
-Does NOT file law suits
-Does NOT freeze accounts associated with your Social Security Number
-Does NOT issue Arrest Warrants
-Does NOT get involved with any type of Law Enforcement Agency
-DOES administer the Social Security Insurance program (Retirement, Disability)
-DOES assign Social Security Numbers and issue replacement cards
-DOES administer the Supplemental Security Income program
-DOES enroll Medicare applicants with CMSDo Not give anyone your Social Security Number!
Or any personal information.
The current scheme is they say your SSN is "attached" with a rental car found in southern Texas, with blood & drugs. Next theres some address they say was raided and discovered several bank accounts used for laundering money under your SSN, so they have to freeze your bank accounts and issue you a new SSN, but you have to secure your Banks accounts by getting some gift cards. ONLY a scammer would request the use of a Gift Card as a means to "secure" your money.
FACT: Anyone who wants you to "go to the store" to buy Gift cards is a SCAMMER!- Only a scammer would leave a message telling you "someone" is using your SSN for criminal activities, then try to say your in trouble for something you didn't do!
- Only a scammer would say "legal enforcement actions".
- Only a scammer is going to call you and demand you pay them over the phone to avoid an Arrest Warrant that doesn't really exist. You would first have to go to Court and disobey a Court Order to get an Arrest Warrant issued. If an Arrest Warrant was issued, a Sheriff would suddenly show up at your door to serve it, they don't warn you they are coming and they don't put it on hold until you decide what to do.
- Your SSN can't be canceled, revoked or suspended because it is a number assigned to your birth name for Identification purposes, only scammers say it can. It IS your Identity as much as your name is.
- New SSN must be applied for with a misuse report on the old one and its FREE.
- Only scammers ask you to pay using Gift Cards. They are not designed to be a method of payment.
