Got a call from a "third party" telling me I need to call 866-413-0429 & gave me a reference # six digits long & told me to call.
After seeing this happening to others on here. I appreciate everyone's post. I figured it was. Scam.

this came on my phone have no clue who it is they sent and how can we stop this  they ask for you person info

Same happened me. The girl that called me said it was sent when I said it was. She called again today. I don't call the number. I know it has to be a Scam.

They said the was a grievemce against me in court. Text my mom called brother and step mom. They said oh you haven't been served by a sheriff the company phone number is from California. Be aware red flags they said this is from credit card debt. Do nor confirm your info. Thank you

I just got call telling me to call number with case number but looked them up and they are located above Tulsa.......I have not got any paperwork served to me.  Reminder it's tax season.

Called with a 3rd party to tell me to call another number with a ref#. Have my information from a credit card open in my name from 2007(stolen ID) filed police report in 2007. They call my parents my brother and my husband. They have tried to serve me multiple times but have failed. Told me that if I dont pay the debt within the hour on Friday they will take over $4k out on our bank account. The guys name is Robert Carter phone number is 18664130429

THIS IS A SCAM!!! It has sent a message to all my family members and it's all BS!! Beware!! full on scam! just reported them to the police.

This is a very disturbing scam. They make  you believe it's from a credit card debt and that they are a collections company from California. I HAVE NEVER LIVED IN CA. I live in Seattle! then somehow they got my relatives numbers and called them telling them I was wanted or [***] like that. Complete scam! and when you try to call back is impossible. I should sue them for slander.

Who are you going to sue? You do know you need a legal name and business address to sue them, right?

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I was contacted by Gleeson & Associates in January and was told that I had an old debt to settle and if i didnt settle the debt I would have a judgement filed against me that would cost me 3 times as much as the debt.So long story short i paid $350.17 and agreed to pay $350.15 today, well when i called 2 days ago someone kept hanging up on me when i called to day to pay someone answered right away and was not able to provide any legit documentation. I guess i have been scammed.i was called by 2 different numbers
