Says something in recording about your social security number being reported in some matter and to call them.  The automated call comes to my work number instructs you to press 1 if u r the person they name or to call them back at the above number.   Not calling......sounds bogus

Unknown call from legal preventative services left message to call them by 3 and I'm not calling them back!

These are terrorist! Probably isis

Asking for an unknown person

They called my moms cell phone looking for me she said it was something about a claim on my social security and if I had a lawyer was given 1866413 2918 ext221 Joyce my mom said was the name.. I'm not calling back

These phone calls are a harassment at my work. I would like theses calls to stop.

I am getting the same calls, I do not trust that these people are legit!!  They look for some people with an outstanding debt, They claimed I owed $1500 on a defaulted Credit card, when in fact I know I only owe $300

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

I got the same call at work claiming to be Legal Prevention service and asked for me to confirm my last 4 digit of SS, they said that i have a outstanding balance from a payday loan i had last year which I have paid it off and now they want proof of any emails I have stating I have indeed paid it off which I don't. I knew this was fishy not calling them back but now they got my cell number so I know they will be bugging me more often. How can I have them to stop calling? Oh and he claims to be Don Covert Manager of the company and he called me on my cell with phone# 209-633-0712 and tells me to call back to phone# 866-413-2918

Block the calls.  Don't pick u on numbers you do not recognize.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Got a call saying that it was for case # blah blah and that it was to prevent a legal action taken against me. The only debts i owe i am currently paying on so they would not be harassing me for payment. They said i had to call back by 5 or legal action would be taken against me. I think they are full of it

I had them call me from two different numbers stating to settle for my pay day loan his name was james saying I needed to pay it today then he gave me an Andres of 485- Cayuga Rd. HB4-2 CHEEKTOWAGA NY 14225  the two numbers are 8776588971 the other number was 8664132918 I dont believe this ....

Spoke with someone named Aaron.  Was extremely hostile.  Refused to send me a letter.  Said they already sent me a letter.  When I got the address it was sent to, explained that I've had several addresses since then so the letter was never received. He demanded to know why I had moved around so much.  Demanded to know why I didn't have my mail forwarded.  When I stuck to my guns wanting it sent in the mail since I had ANOTHER company making a claim on the same account he only offered me an e-mail.  When I insisted on a letter instead on an e-mail he got very agitated saying I was being irrational, that an e-mail was the same as a letter and demanded to speak to my lawyer so he could talk to someone rational.
