Got an ominous message stating. that a claim had been filed against me and they needed confirmation of my name and address so they do could serve me with a formal claim at my home and at my work. They didn't give a company name or any pertinent information just the phone number and the claim number, and also said that  I .had one chance and I have been warned.

I got a call at work from Global with number 866-413-4601 .They ask for my supervisor. I call them they claim they were trying to get confirmation of my address so they could serve me with papers. I told them they had this information that they did not need to call my job. later I found out they had call my home and my brother-in law. they would not give me an address I ask them not to call my job they claim it was the locater who was calling and that they had no control over who they call. I ask for something in writing which they said they do  not send out. Nobody paid over the phone to someone you have no idea who you are paying.  can someone give me there address.

This is so weird. I've had like 2 different numbers call me regarding similar situation. But this is the weird thing about it this man Paul Johnson asked me to speak with my husband's ex wife. Not me but her. He said she had a claim against her and he needed to speak to her immediately. I asked how did u get my number he said I was listed as a contact. A contact to my husband's ex wife. Yea right. So stupid.

I also received a call from this number stating they were trying to reach my daughter, who is 34, claiming she had a claim against her giving a claim number and stating she had only today to get back in touch with them.  I told them I did not know where she was living right now, so the lady on the phone (very rudely) stated that she was notifying me as her mother and to consider my daughter now warned.  This happened back in early March.  Then today, my other daughter called me and said that someone called her cell phone and her Dad's cell phone (we are divorced) trying to get my address and only saying they have a claim against me, leaving a "claim number" (ironically, the same number they left me for my other daughter bak in March), and trying to get my current address so they could serve me (they didn't say what they wanted to serve).  I work for lawyers so told my daughers they could relax that this was an obvious scam from someone trying to scare people and extort payment of a "bogus" claim.  I told her that legitimate collection agencies are forbidden to ask personal information from family members and have many laws procedures in place they must follow.  Someone needs to catch these people soon before they get by with taking a lot of innocent people's money!

I had the same issue.  They are violating the collection laws.   You can report their number (s) to the state attorney generals office indicating that they are harassing you and your family members.   They did the same things to me.  They called someone who I have not spoken to for over a decade and did not have my contact information.  They gave that person my information to contact me.   This company needs to be careful for they may give out information and violate a restraining order.

THIS IS a scam where they say you have a claim filed against you and that you need to settle...knew it was a lie and played along...they said it could be taken care of by sending money western union to solve today...somehow though they have old files and can call people around to stir problems...but you can not find them....so it is harassment you must put up with

Same as above, they called several of my wife's relatives and said that is the last call and that we must call the 866-413-4601 number to find out the "firm" that will be handling our "claim" but they would not tell us who they are or what the "claim" was about.  Total BS, phishing scam.

Sherri was right all the way. These clowns wouldn't know a legal brief from boxer briefs.

Descriptions in this thread are of extortion dressed as debt collection. Consumer debts in America, including payday loans, are a *CIVIL* matter, not criminal! Honest debt collectors do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "mediators", or "prelitigation specialists", only sweaty criminals with a script full of bullying remarks. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.
