PARENTS OF GRADUATING COLLEGE STUDENTS BE AWARE: We have been getting random calls about student loan repayments with different names, different phone numbers, and different reference numbers. It is a SCAM. I did a reverse listing online and saw several people getting the same calls. Some who did not even have student loans. They never ask for anyone by name - only that they are calling in reference to our federal student loan. Here are examples of the names and numbers we have been given:

They are not just calling recent graduates.  Other numbers state they are even calling senior citizens (probably using a robo-dialer)  with the same scam - and use many different numbers.

Received a similar generic message about my federal student loans and new repayment options from Victoria Simpson.  Same reference number as above.

Just got a message from a blocked number with literally the same info posted above from Victoria Simpson with same reference number. Stupid

Thank you for your post I just received a call from an unknown caller who left the following voicemail, "Hello this is Victoria Simpson, calling in reference to your federal student loan I need to discuss your repayment options with some new changes that have taken place recently. My number is 866-417-7997 and I'm going to go ahead and give you a reference number to use when you call back, it will make things a lot easier 022207. Thank you.  If you did not make your post I would have not known this to be a SCAM, although calling from an unknown number is a red flag.  Thanks again Concerned Citizen

Same here, thanks for sharing. Unbelievable how real it sounds and for some that don't know any better get scammed out of there hard earned money.

I recd the same message to call a Victoria Simpson back @ 866-417-7997 but recd the call from 2 different numbers from 2 different states. King William, Virginia & Racine Wisconsin.... I didn't answer but see it a a visual vm message.

I've received the same calls. Victoria Simpson called and gave me referecne number 02207 and then the exact same person call the next day but changed her name to Pamela Matthew with ref number 044402. I saved both voicemails and they have the exact same voice.

I received a call from "victoria"....asked for return call at 866-417-7997.  The original call came from 757-207-3566.  when you call it says "your eligible for rebates"  SCAM!
