- anonymousReceived a call from 866-420-4441. Claimed to be Joseph Lane an investigator for a bank in New York who was seeking a family member of ours living in texas regarding fraud. When I told him I was retired law enforcement he ended the call abruptly.
- AnonymousI too received a call from Joseph Lane regarding fraud. He stated he was not with a bank but works for ADS, a funding company.
- AnonymousI received a call from this man Lane as well. He was looking for a family member of mine that allegedly owed debt. He became very angry and accused me of being a liar when I said I didn't have contact with this person anymore. He actually gave me the person's address and told me that I needed to reconcile and tell him to pay his bills. He also told me that he was a bounty hunter but didn't know the person he was looking for was a man. He thought he was looking for a woman. Not a good bounty hunter if you ask me. You have the perosn's address but don't know their gender?? Kane's whole story was very obviously made up. He still calls me but I do not answer because something isn't adding up with the things he says. It creeps me out.
- Caller: "Bounty hunter"
- anonymousI also received a call for the past few weeks about settling a debt. This was settled by our attorney 7 years ago.He gave no company name. I called and he answered the phone by his name. He threatened me and called me a liar and a scumbag. I called the BBB and they said he's probably sitting in his garage scamming for a living. He said to go to the FBI website and report him. So I did. If you would like to do the same go to Ic3.gov. We'll see what happens.

- anonymousI too have recently been recieving calls from "Joseph Lane". He has contacted my immediate family, as well as people that are not related to me. He initially said that he was contacting us over fraud, but then changed his tune towards bill collection. He is demanding credit card numbers from people to pay this "debt". He is sharing personal and confidential material with numerous people which is highly illegal. This person is a scammer! Do not talk to them
- Caller: Joseph Lane
- AJI got the same call. It all started with my brother getting a call then I got calls because it sounded important. I later sent him an email notifying him that I sent his info to the AG's office.
- Caller: ADS

- AnonNow the two positive comments on here sounds a lot like Joseph Lane to me. Anyone who has received calls from this con artist hasn't had a good experience at all.

- Can'tbelievethisMy Family member received a call from this so called "Joseph Lane" he is rude and has no business ethics. He is looking for a family member of mine supposedly for FRAUD so he says. I called him to inquire information and he hung up on me I then started to call the bank that he had mentioned he allegedly worked for and that was not accurate. At that moment I knew he was either a scamer or one of those ppl that buys list and tries to collect old debts for themselves. I called the police department and I am making a formal complaint for further investigation. I am not sure if anything will actually get done but I am determined to get justice from this so called Joseph Lane. I hope he reads this post........... thanks to all who has posted awarenes is Key to Power !!

- Law StudentThis man using the name Joe Lane or Joseph Lane has violated many FDCPA laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
-Contacting family members repeatedly, revealing personal information to them, telling them I will be arrested for fraud, and also not honoring their requests for him not to call again
-Verbal harrassment (personal insults, threats)
-Refusing to provide company name/address
-Not honoring a request for written correspondence
-Not honoring a 'do not disturb' at work request
-Refusing to validate the 'debt' he was/is trying to collect
First of all, when asked for his company name and address, Joe Lane refused to give them to me and said unless I give him my credit card or bank account information over the phone he would not fax or mail me correspondence regarding the debt in question or give his company name or address. He's been calling my place of employment 3-4 times per day, and when I asked Joe Lane to be contacted in writing Joe Lane said no, he will continue calling my work. Joe Lane then hung up on me, and then called back within 10 minutes later to make it clear he was not honoring my verbal request for written correspondence.
I told him that I've never owned a credit card and I would like to see what documents on he has regarding the debt. Joe Lane then began threatening to call my family, my job, recited my social security number, told me that my parents raised a coward and told me that I wasn't a man unless I agreed to pay this mystery debt.
I hung up on Joe Lane and apologized to my employer. I spoke with my father and it appears Joe Lane called him and told him I had committed fraud, and would go to jail unless he gave Joe Lane his credit card over the phone. Luckily he had not done so. I had to calm him down and explain what this con artist/collections agent is trying to do.
I have filed complaints with the attorney general (NAAG.org), the FTC (ftccomplaintassistant.gov), and the CFPB (consumerfinance.gov), and also the local police department in Tonawanda, NY (716) 692-2121. I suggest if he is harassing you or anyone you care about, you should report him as well.
He uses the following phone numbers:
(716) 504-6907
(716) 418-7211
(855) 255-0448
(855) 267-9155
(866) 420-4441
He will be judged for his violations soon. The more of us that report him the faster this will end.

- TomI received 3 calls for this guy Joseph Lane. Two to my house and one to my cell. He used the ph#716-504-6813. Claiming I owe a debt that I don't owe. He yelled at my wife, called her names. She asked/demanded that he not call and he still did. He kept changing his story. First he told her it was for bounced checks that my father wrote, but claims I was responsible for. Then the next day he said it was for a HSBC master card debt. My wife asked for documentation of the debt to verify with our attorney. He then became angry and said that he could not send any type of paper work without the payment. My wife demanded the paperwork to make sure it was not a scam and he told her it was none of her business if it was a scam. lol. He would not give the name of the company or address of were he works. BECAREFUL. My wife works for a bank and everything he said did not make sense. He is a scam. Pass this on, do not give him any info, do not verify anything with him.

- BigA replies to Joe bThey call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.
This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number
