Just FYI: while this may be a legitimate UHC phone number there's no guarantee your call was actually from UHC. Scammers spoof legitimate numbers all the time.

No business dealings with UC Health for nearly 3 years and, when I did, I made sure all balances were paid in full.  They have my correct name and number but so what, it can be found anywhere on the net.  I’ve never received a statement in the mail.  Seems like a very well organized scam that is somehow using a legit phone number.  They better not send their bs balance to collections or somehow affect my perfect credit or there will be hell to pay

Unknown caller. No message left.  As others identify this as University of Colorado billing, I can say that I have no outstanding hospital bills and have not been in Colorado.  Sounds like  phishing call as others have indicated.

This phone number is for sure a SCAM!!!

I keep getting emails that include this number saying that I have a refund from U of CO Hospital.  "Click this link" and it takes me to another site (somewhat legitimate looking) that asks me to login to my bank account using my UserId & Password.  NO THANK YOU INDEED!!!  When I look at my U of CO Hospital account on-line, there is no credit balance showing.

UCH had a test done, and I owed them $1. My goodness, really? I could have paid that at my next doctor appointment. I have had higher bills and not been called immediately upon my getting the bill in the mail. Wondering if they are in financial trouble. The number is a legit number. I called them and paid the $1. NOW take note … I got a call from a UCH number that was indicating they listed me as a new member. And immediately asked me for my DOB and SS# immediately told her I was uncomfortable giving that information out now knowing who she was. She started stating all types of information. I stopped her, asked her for her name and number and told her I would call UCH Customer Service to verify the department and phone number she gave me (what she gave me for a phone number was what showed up on my phone.) Immediately upon hanging up I cleared the phone line, pulled her call back up and it showed a 702 area code um, yeah right. Calling UCH customer service I got things culled out with the Representative who was extremely pleasant. Then she notated my account … they so called Dept. that I was given by the woman who called me was not at all the same. The telephone number showing on my phone for UCH also didn't exist! Imagine that … UCH health is being spoofed. NEVER give out any information for any call that you didn't initiate yourself. **** A week later the same people called back asking for my name and SS#. I told the young man "Look, I called UCH and verified that your number isn't a legal number, and you are being reported to the police now since I have the same numbers showing up as the original call." He immediately hung up and I have received no more calls from them. It has been a week without them calling.

The recorded voice said "To accept press 1.  To send a voicemail message press 2."  It then repeated the message over and over again.  Nothing else was said - not one syllable.  No indication as to who this was.

A female voice identified herself as being from UCHealth's business office and asked me to call her back at a different number, 866-426-0459, and to use a reference number. When I call either number, I get a recording that doesn't say anything about UCHealth and wants me to press buttons anyway to "be connected" and all my internal alarm bells are going off that this is a scam. When I access my UCHealth account through their secure app, there's nothing that would indicate why I am being called by their office. Blocking both numbers.

Beware. My phone detected this number as potential spam and I received the same vague message about “my statement” with no company info. I’ve NEVER been to ANY hospital in Colorado and I have NO unpaid medical bills so maybe contact the hospital separately if you think you have a statement that needs attention. I don’t think this legit.

BACKGROUND: During 2020-2021 and due to COVID, hospitals faced severe personnel shortages of all kinds. If you had to have anything major, you'll know what I'm talking about. It was scary.

Many hospitals and medical clinics were forced to hire third-party accounting/billing companies to handle their insurance claims processing and receivables. These transitions have not been without problems. It took me several contacts plus providing documentation from my Medicare Supplemental to prove they had already been paid. Perseverence is the virtue you'll need.

    BigA replies to Dan S
No "perseverence" is necessary since this is a third party debt collector who must follow the FDCPA which says:

upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  [/u][/i][/b]

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation.  It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

You took the time to look up a known phone number but failed to give us the name of this "Third-Party for UCHealth". Why is that?
Besides, THEY need to prove you owe the debt, YOU don't need to prove you don't.

Do you often look up known phone numbers when there is no logical reason to do so? And since you did, why didn't you give us the legal name & business address of this alleged "debit collector for UC Health"?

This number keeps calling me. My iphone identifies it as potential spam. They refer to me not understanding a statement but don’t identify themselves and tell you if you don’t understand something about tge statement to call this number. I haven’t received anything that I don’t understand so I’m not calling this number. If they read this and are legit then they might want to know that some people are reporting this number as a scam.
