- Caller: ????
- PatriciaMechanical voice message regarding monies paid in 2007. Same as other reports. What is this scam?
- chirodr replies to Diana| 1 replyI received this call today saying that I saw patients in 2007 who had UHC which I did not. Also they said my W9 stated this which is also false. This is a scam to try to get docs to lower prices. In the last several days I have been contacted by so called negotiaters for insurance companies like UHC, AETNA< CIGNA trying to get me to sign a paper to lower my fees.
- JGJTRPN are at it again, despite making a statement that they will cease sending out solicitations...I just got one of their phone messages today. This quoted message was sent out on 5-15-07:

Three Rivers Halts Solicitation, Plans Changes
The Three Rivers Provider Network (TRPN) says it did not intend to mislead physicians and is honoring an American Medical Association request to stop sending physicians a form that could have led them to agree to discount their fees. TRPN also says it is modifying the form to incorporate AMA's suggested changes to improve communications with doctors.
AMA Executive Vice President Michael D. Maves, MD, wrote the company last month that physicians across the country have complained about receiving a solicitation from the San Diego-based company that appears to be a routine request for a W-9. However, physicians who signed the document found themselves bound to a contract that reduced their fees by 25 percent. Dr. Maves urged TRPN to make its contracting practices transparent.
"Whether it is the intent of TRPN or the not, the perception of physicians is that TRPN is seeking to trick physicians into signing a contract by disguising this document," Dr. Maves wrote the company. He urged TRPN to address physicians' concerns "by working to establish positive physician relationships based on clarity and transparency of communications between TRPN and physicians."
Earlier this month, TRPN Chief Operating Officer Todd Breeden responded that his company has stopped sending the solicitation and was working to "incorporate your recommendations and clear up any future misunderstandings." He added that there was "no intent on our part to confuse any healthcare provider."- Caller: TRPN solicitor
- JGJAddendum to previous message:
These TPRN people switched from faxing forms to physician offices to the telephone solicitations, it seems. - Cindy replies to Starmaster| 1 replyJust got the automated call today (10-7) -- thank goodness for google.
- Headshrink| 1 replySame basic story left on my VM (screen ALL calls).
This is one of the MANY, MANY reasons I have a cash-only practice.
Even legit calls from insurance companies don't get returned (in my patient contracts). But this one was a little more obvious. - all replies to CindyThank you sooooo much. I have been anoyed by these calls for months and did not know what to do.....Thank you for google and all of the posts
- all replies to HeadshrinkIn today's economy, it is difficult to have a cash only practice, but with these headaches in aaddition to the trouble with insurances, I am tempted to follow your lead.
- al replies to chirodrI'm a health care provider too. Didn't pick up the call, but they left a message... pre recorded. Makes me a bit uncomfortable thinking that they have my phone number. I guess they harvested it from the sites that list me as a network provider or something. Not good.
- Kathryn replies to Kitzen1These people keep calling my cell phone. I don't have a TAX ID number or anything connected to the IRS in any way at my number. Annoying.
- pittmachine asking for me to "press one" to get info the IRS has on me!
Of course I hung up. - Massachusetts social worker replies to JoeI got this today and I think last year and the year before and possibly the year before that.
She the post above from the NY NASW. - Ann replies to Joe2/20/2008 I am a psychologist in LA, CA. I got a similar call but since my answer machine picked up to message, there was no phone number. Message named TPRN, my services used in 2007, & required a W-2. I found this to be intimidating and went to the internet to search it out. Thankfully I found this web-sight. Looks like they are moving on from NY to CA.
- Just hang up on them.My policy on any electronic calls is to hang up immediately because it's obviously not important else this company would have had a live person contact me. It would be nice if there were no telemarketers but since there are -- I prefer automated over live since they are easier to hang up on.
If I'm really busy, I usually ignore calls that show 1-800 on the caller ID since most of them are telemarketers. Most people I do business with give out 800 numbers but their toll free numbers never show up on the caller ID.
Besides, if it was important, they would have mailed me the form without bothering to call -- if they have my number from the phone book then they have the address that's underneath it.- Caller: TRPN
- BRCReceived a call from this number on April 21, 2009, at 11:45 a.m. EDT, to my health care practice line. I was not able to answer it at the time, no message was left. I googled the number, found this website, and called the number using Skype. A recorded voice said, "You have reached the fax removal line. Enter your 10-digit fax number and we will remove your fax number immediately. Thank you. Goodbye." Very odd that the number they called is not associated with a fax number. I did not leave a message, either.
- Caller: Not identified
- SMWKauaiIt is a fax from TRPN requesting personal info (NPI #s, email address, etc. WE aren't providers and don't plan on becoming one. No contact number except the fax #.
- Caller: TPRN
- Call type: Unwanted
- denniseTRPN has been hitting Massachusetts, too. Our office received a fax today titled, "Important Claims Processing. NPI Required. This is not a contract". The are asking for Name, Tax ID, NPI #, address, phone, fax, etc. They don't offer a phone number but ask for the information to be faxed. As someone who has been in the health field and providing billing services for 25 years, I can tell you this is NOT the way legitimate companies do business. Do NOT be fooled and do NOT send them any information. A legitimate company will have someone call if you do not respond.
- Caller: TRPN
- Call type: Fax
- RaminThey called me to put my fax number to be removed from the list! Didn't mention anything about where they are calling.
- seegeeI live in Alaska, and they've left two voice messages that say:
"Please press 1, please press 1, please press 1, please press 1. Goodbye."- Caller: 1-866-434-3674
