I get calls at work from this so called "legal company" at least 3 times a day! They threaten that I will be taken from work to jail and have a legal suit against my ssn. I have blocked them from my personal phones. If so then why has nothing been done? I have no legal issues against my name or ssn.

Called to say I was responsible for a debt.  Threatened a lawsuit.    I strong armed th verbally and  said to send me a court date and paperwork if they had any.    They got scared and hung up.    Of course it is a scam!!!!

I just got new cellphone. I guess I got someones old cellphone number who has bad credit.They are leaving messages stating that I have a legal matter to respond to and failure to respond will result in legal action taken against me. They left their number (1866-449-7323) and a account number for me to call them back.They did not leave their business name. I called them back in hoping for them to stop calling my new cellphone.I told the man who answered my call my situation(new cellphone...the person they are trying reach doesn't have this number anymore, please takemy cell phone number off of their calling list) The representative's name was Scotty Thompson and he was rude. He told me (with a smart [***] ghetto tone in his voice) "Just to inform you, no one was calling you, it is an automated call.Let me check into it.They will stop calling you." My response back to him: "how will they stop calling me when I have not provided you my cell phone number ?" He automatically thought the number I was calling from was my cellphone (which it was not, I was calling from my house land line)He said (with a smart tone) are you calling from (xxx) xxx -xxxx ? I replied ( right back to him with the same kind of tone he has been giving me) "yes, but that is not the number I am calling about" so he now reads the caller ID name that goes with my house telephone and ask me "are you so and so ? "  (our house phone line is not registered in my name, however it is in another family members name. It does not make any sense for him to ask me if my name was the caller ID name because again...I am not calling you about my house land line...I am trying to get you to stop calling my new cell phone) I answered with a "No, and do you have and ID number?" Scotty Thompson said "a what ?!" I tried to explain nicely to him how some companies have an ID number when you call in. His response "You know what, you have a nice day and keep having those calls !" and he hung up on me. Very unprofessional and dumb as brick. I called right back a lady answered this time. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She had a little giggle saying "she was a supervisor and it is a pleasure to speak with me how can she help?" I explained to her what just happened. She acted like she did not know a Scotty Thompson. I gave her my cellphone number to be removed from their call list and gave her the account number that the automated call was leaving messages on my cellphone so she could find that persons account. She was nice and said to give them at least 24 hours for the calls to stop. I told her I also registered my cell phone number with the do not call. gov and thank you. She apologized for what happened earlier and said thank you/good bye.

Ya, same thing just happened to me that most of the others are reporting.  I thought it was a funny call.  My last name ends in ER.  With a simple, accidental typo, its easy for me to type my name ending in WE. So they were attempting to collect this debt from the WE last name.  This tells me right there it is a scam. I did take out a payday loan way, way back in the day due to some struggles.  I hated every minute of it, but had no other options, and this loan was repaid in full, and was taken out using the correct spelling of my last name.  I was talking to this lady from ACS Legal. Same story that others have mentioned. Said they needed a statement regarding this payday loan that I never paid back, or one would be created for me.  I asked for details.  She said the company that furnished the funds, and the company her Legal company was working for,  was venture capital (or something like that).  I've never dealt with this company in my life.  But I played along a little bit just to see how far they were going to take this.  I asked when the loan was received, they said January 15, 2013. (Exactly 2 years ago...odd).  She then offered other information I didn't ask for, but if there was any doubt in my mind this was legit, the information she provided next would definitely confirm for me this is a scam.  She said that when the funds were deposited into my account (2 years ago), they were placed in a bank account that I closed over 5 years ago, and that I reported I was working at a job that I haven't worked at in 6 years, and that I supplied an email addressed I haven't used in 4 years, and that my address was on a street that I haven't lived on in 5 years.  Two years ago, I wasn't even in the same state where they say I was living when I took this loan.  I just politely told the lady that I am disputing all claims this "venture capital" or whatever is making and told them the everything I just typed above.  She said OK, I understand. And was surprisingly pleasant with me.  I just wonder if they are going to continue to try to collect this "debt," or If I am going to lucky to have settled this whole stupid scam attempt with one phone call.

Good luck if you get a call from these people.  And please, don't believe anything they tell you.  Always ask for documentation, and call your bank for records.  Trust me they will have them.  Banks keep archived records a very long time.  Worst case scenario, hire an attorney or pull or credit report.

FOR SURE A SCAM!

I had a payday loan years ago and paid in full. These folks call with some of your personal  information, and sound official. These vultures have some of your personal information, and sound like they are going to foreclose on a debt ASAP with full legal authority, and personally I knew I owed no one anything. THE MINUTE I mentioned they send their information to my attorney (I called and gave them my attorney's name/contact information), they hung up on me. I've tried to called them many times (since now I'm confident in my rights and knowing I don't owe anyone any $$$), and they hang up on me. TOTAL SCAM. **DO NOT**, **DO NOT**, GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY.

I to, have been getting these SAME EXACT CALLS for about a year now. Everytime it is the same thing. "If you do not return the call today, a statement will be made on your behalf and we will continue with our legal proceeding" BLAH, BLAH!! Get a real job!! They are old payday loan/debt collectors that have nothing better to do than harrass people. GET A LIFE!! This has SCAM all over it!!!! IGNORE! IGNORE! IGNORE!!!
