I had the same thing.  $69.90 was taken out of my account, I also terminated my card.  The number on my account info was 8664501234, and says it was for ECMN-SOFTWARE.

I went to the bank and got my new card today. They also credited the money back to my account while I was there. Also you can email spam@uce.gov. I explained to them that is was not spam but debit card fraud. They have been reported. Hope this helps.

I received a debit charge of 69.90 yesterday and I have no idea who ECMN-Software is.  I too had to cancel my debit card and file a complaint through my Bank. Does any one ou there have the same issues recently?

I had the same thing but on my credit card.  I filed a complaint but am calling to cancel the card now.

I had 69.90 taken out of my account.  I am calling the bank now to have my acct closed.  Don't know who this is but am guessing it was an fee that was charged when I renewed a virus protection software because once i
entered by card number to renew a pop-up said that I will be charged an additional amount but could not verify it.  again, this is a guess.

the charge is indeed for a fraudulent program, "MSAntiSpyware2009" that was offered very cleverly on an authentic-looking Microsoft page and seemed to follow up on the real 2008 version. As soon as I received my statement, I called the credit card company.  the customer rep, who was anything but cooperative, "allowed" me to deduct the charge from my payment, told me that I have to fill out a form, stated that it will take several billing cycles for the adjustment to be made ("with due penalties and late charges"!), and assured me that "they" (who??) advise not to close the account... I plan to keep the account but to be extremely watchful and, in the event of further fraudulent charges, to close the account immediately (without renewal with the same card company)

The same happened to me, when I was desperate to fix my computer virus. I also got the same response from the customer representative who let me deduct the amount from my bill only temporarily. I don't know whether showing the proof that ECMN is a fraudulent company will help us get the money back.

  An unauthorized charge was made to my credit card account of $53.90 for a  purchase to ECMN-Software in Kansas. I see from this website that a number of other other people have had the same problem. I have canceled my credit card and plan to file a police report. I see several websites with "ECMN" in the name but I don't have time to e-mail all of them to see if they may have handled this charge. Do you have proof that ECMN is a bogus company?

On, 1/21/09 my computer did not work and "ECMN Software" popped up and represented itself as a quick safe way to clean all viruses. I felt I had no option than to pay the $69.90. I did give my card card info. I realized afterward something didn't seem right. Sure enough, the software did nothing and my debit card was charged. My bank won't credit my account. Even after I told them the 1-800 number and the company is bogus. This is so frustrating. I really want my money back.

You are lucky. My bank won't credit my account. They said I should not have given my account number. That the transaction was authorized by me.

You have to file a fraud report with the bank..not a dispute.

You could even print it out and take it to the bank.

I'm searching for the proof. Many years back, a bogus company used my credit number to order some whole sale product, but got caught and I was asked to testify in court this fraud. I did not have to pay. I don't know today's case. If we help the police catch this company, we are definitely justified to get a refund.

I think we have enough victims to report to police to catch this bogus company. It shouldn't be too hard. Then, definitely we are justified for a refund.

I called my bank and they are refunding my money, canceling my debit card, ard starting an investigation. I called the 866 number but all I got was silence. Are we dealing with a virus?
