How can this number be an invalid phone number and still have an answering machine answering it?

These people continue to harrass me on my cell and home number.  Just today - I told them to decease and decease all calls. But it went to death ears.  They need to be more professional when adressing people during these hard times.  Does anyone know the statue of limitation for GA?

This person Tamara Smith called me today again after numerous threatening phone calls in the past. Today, she first called my employer who told her I could not have personal calls, then she called my cell phone, which I answered and proceeded to tell me that she had a summons for me. I told her to mail me the information as they should have that on file. She said what, you don't want to take care of it now? I said mail me the information. She then proceeded to call me a dead beat and a sloppy [***]. After she called me, she then called my mother and my mother said to provide her with the summons information and Mrs. Smith said that was private information. My mother told her that that information is actually public. At that point she began yelling and screaming obscenities to my mother. I don't know what this call is even regarding but they are harassing, extremely rude and not following the rules of the FDCPA. She never stated that she was a debt collector, just that she had a summons for me to appear in court. She also said she was from a law firm, which doesn't appear to be truthful. I want them to stop calling and harassing my job, and family. If they need to contact me, they can mail the documentation to me. If I get another call from them, I will be suing them myself.

Harrassing phone calls

Your obviously a debt collector yourself.  Word of advise to all whether you owe or not.  Send a cease and desist letter with in 30 days that you will deal directly with the company you owe the debt too.  Then they are legally not allowed to contact you any further.  Google a sample letter for free.   DO NOT be intimidated by these people!

I had received calls and voicemails from this company saying they were getting ready to prosecute me for an outstanding debt in my county I live in! Their number came up a New York number then when they called back to "follow up" wit me it was a Cleveland Ohio number but same guy calling lmao freakn morons!

I just moved to Ohio so I know I don't owe anything here.  The message they left me said I had until the end of the day to call them back or I would be required to appear in the local county district court.  He isn't even saying my name correctly...which tells me  he doesn't have accurate records of anything.  And if he has my number, why doesn't he have my address where they could send this 'summons'?

Received a call informing me to call the number above, however the actual call came from 954-667-7972, which, from reverse lookup, appears to be a landline to a private home in Ft Lauderdale, FL. She gives the impression of being locally located but is actually calling from another state. The caller makes reference to possible court appearance, etc. Uses a lot of legal language such as 'primary respondent'. Does not give any specific contact information other than the extension number. Names the company/firm as HWO.

My mother in law got a call from 216-273-9990, saying they had a legal matter and needed to be resolved or they were taking legal matters...then tried to call them back and never answered

Called and left Mr. Peters a message and told him to bugger off and he isn't getting anything cause there just a 3rd rate collection agency and to give it up dude...Can't wait for the return phone call , ohh gonna have fun with these bozo's.

Not a very nice person.  Implied they were a law firm, but looked them up and found they were a collection agency.  Said a lawsuit was being filed and they would be "showing up" at our front door.

Same call as everyone else... Tim Peters then Miss Morgan.  I let them talk because I really do owe the debt so I wanted to be sure it wasn't real... I said I did not want to pay via card/check and would send them a certified check by certified mail and needed their address.  Miss Morgan said I had plenty of time to do that and they will not accept payment that way.  If this wasn't a scam they'd take 100,000 pennies dropped off at their door! Money is money and they can't/won't accept it any other way because they will get caught!!!!!

Most debt collectors are minimum wage employees. I'm sure most of them have bad credit and past due debt. I find it hilarious when they try to act all high and mighty like they have never been late on a bill.

Get a real JOB you blood sucker.

I DO pay my bills. These [***] are trying to hassle me on behalf of someone ELSE! I don't owe anyone ANYTHING!
So I guess since I see how you scumbag collectors are rolling in money, maybe I WILL take their calls and have a little fun with them. Let's see how much $$ they make chasing a dead lead?
