these ppl are real [***]!  not only do they call you and then put you on hold and the person that answers has no clue why you are there. but they insist on doin this all at the weirdest times of the day.  either 1 am or 1 pm they dont care.  and they will continue to do this demanding an account number (that i dont have the slightest CLUe what that is bc idk why they are calling) and you try to tell them that and they get an attitude.  my favorite has to be when i told them that i had never received a bill and to quit calling my cell phone its a private line,  they answered with "i dont care ifyou got it, we sent it and thats all that matters."  Yea that will make someone want to pay! I've been getting many calls from this number recently. I have yet to answer because when they do call I'm TRYING TO SLEEP. And they have yet to leave a message... so that maybe kind of fishy. Reading the above responses, I get worried. Do I owe money to someone, or something? I don't know, they don't leave messages. And according to how these guys are to you all, I wouldn't want to answer to find out.

Yes, getting calls hourly from this number. Also calling my work,cell, and parents home number(I am 27). I don't think I have any unpaid debt out there so not sure what it is about. Very annoying.

Well, in that case, just tell them you sent them a payment already, and it doesn't matter that they didn't receive it, because you sent it and that's all that matters.

Yeah I just got a call from them, but I was... wild idea here.... SLEEPING. Im lucky I decided to look up the number ahead of calling them back, you guys saved me a little hassle today when I woke up. Yeah I believe thats their site, and I think they are based out of Rochester, NY. i got called by a ConServe number with that area code. They recover "Educational Debt" meaning student loans, and such. The ConServe people called me directly which is weird, but told me to call and 866 number, well THE 866 number... hmmmm....

I recieved a call from these people. The other number listed that they called from was 5855986192. I requested to be taken off their calling list. Lady name was Blair Jordan from ConServe.

Calling my number looking for my brother (they don't know he's my bro) demanding to know where he lives now and what number they can call to reach him.  Spoke to a supervisor today who was equally pushy and rude.

Got a call - Male voice, said his name is "Mark".  Did not provide company name as law requires (at least for DE).  Said that he was given this number to use for a reference for someone else.  Caller ID was "Unavailable".  Seems very very shady since the person he said used us as a reference did not provide us as a reference for anyone.

Some [***] named Rick from ConServe keeps calling for a Jessica Benavidez  who must owe for a student loan.  I keep telling them I have had this number since Oct 2009 but they keep calling.

I turned it over to the Office of the Attorney General of Texas today.  They will take care of these people.

This person calls on my cell phone. I don't use my cell phone very often so when I do turn it on about once a month I have tons of messages from this company. They say they are calling about a debt. Today I finally called back and gave them my name and said that I don't owe any debt. The woman on the other end asked for my date of birth and last four of my social security so we could discuss it. I told her I do not give out that information. She hung up on me.

wife got a call for our son from "alfred" at "extension 2246"; our son is an unemployed student who has never had a credit rating, thus no opportunity to buy on credit or have any bills. she is concened about possible identity theft?

These guys call daily and call from different numbers.  I have now blocked two numbers they have used including the one this list is for.  Of all the times they've called this is only they second time a person was in their end of the line.  The ask for private information when trying to verify they have the right person on the phone.  They are trying to collect on school loans that are in the process of being written  off due to low income related to being on SSDI.   They are very rude when they do t get the information they want.

I am sick and tired of 1-866-467-4300 calling my cell and if I do answer it they never say anything just hang up. They are really hassling me with their continual calls and hang ups.

This is debt collections. They try to call me once per day. Sometimes from different numbers after a few months. I've recently looked up my credit report and I have NO collections or delinquencies on it. And a credit rating of 739!  I've no idea why they are calling. They even tried calling my place of work. Like the other post said, they will ask for your last 4 SSN and mailing address. These guys are very shady.

This is why i am going to tell you what you need to do and to know:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Called @ 4:23 pm eastern time. I didn’t answer & no message was left. CID said Toll Free Call. I never answer calls from unknown names & numbers. I see from others previous reports that the number is from  debt collection company. If you don’t leave a message, I’m not calling you back.
