Caller purports to be Amazon Fraud reporting a $1,000+ charge. LOL

Male caller from Amazon stating a purchase to my default card on record was made to Amazon.com for $1499…if this purchase was not made by me then call the number listed..

I got a robot voice call too... $1,279.99

WARNING! 1-866-469-1384 is a SCAM! A voicemail was left this morning and it showed,"unknown caller" on my caller ID. Whenever I listen to my voicemail, it always states the phone number first followed by the voicemail. In this case, it stated, "The caller withheld their identity". This is the voicemail which was an automated man's voice: "This is to notify you regarding your today's purchase on Amazon.com. You have been charged $1,279.99 on your default card saved on Amazon.com. If you have made this purchase on Amazon.com and recognize it, then simply hang up the call and your order will be delivered to your address in two to three days. However, if you have not made any such transaction, you then immediately call Amazon billing fraud and prevention department at the toll free number which is 1-866-469-1384. Again, the number is 1-866-469-1384."
Let's make this clear...NO ONE will EVER call you from Amazon about any purchase you make! I knew for many reasons that this message was a SCAM but one of the top reasons is that my "default" card on Amazon had expired years ago, so nobody would be able to make a purchase using that card including myself.

Same exact message from unknown caller, regarding a purchase on our default credit card.

Obvious scam ...

Call from “Amazon.com” telling me I had a $1200 charge. Definitely a scam!

Got the same message from this number today, showed up as a private number on my cell.

Same call received today...male with Amazon states charge of $1279 made against my card on file. Obviously a scam......

I got an "unavailable" call them a male robot voice saying something about an Amazon charge and to call this number. Didn't get an amount because it probably started when my voice-mail started. I did recently order something from Amazon, but I checked my account and everything looked fine. Glad to see it is a scam... definitely don't call them back!!

I just received same call fr “Unknown” on caller ID. I declined call but caller left voicemail.  Voicemail purported to be Amazon w/ exact same message about a purchase, use of card on file, & call to Fraud Dept as others have reported. What’s interesting is that I DID make an order to Amazon yesterday but the amount was totally wrong.

Same call, unavailable. I immediately checked my default account....no strange charge. If there would have been, I would have contacted that default account, NOT Amazon. Hopefully no one falls for it.

I also got a call saying I had a charge of $1,279 on my credit card...glad to see it's a scam

just got the same call 10 minutes ago.  I don't have an Amazon account, never die and never will.

I got the call also for $1279.99 and I do not use Amazon.

I got this same call today. Supposedly someone hacked my account and tried to buy an iPhone in Ohio for $1279. I told the lady SHE is the scam. 🤣
