Well today was the last straw, not only has this company been calling me every 30min or so throughout the entire day including weekends but they crossed the line when they called me at 7:30am PST. Yes I have the call call time and date recorded, locked and saved for future proof of their violations against all known consumer protective rights and Federal legislation that have clear cut rules and regulations to follow. Worst of it all is that I dont even have an account with these parasites and I have no clue how they got my cell phones number.

Unfortunately when you get a number, its someone else's old number and it comes with problems. If you don't have a account with them, them send them a cease & desist letter via certified us mail or return receipt.  You can find free templates online!  Some of the newer phones have call blocking already, but for some you can find a free app for to block unwanted calls.  Once you send that letter, if they don't stop after receipt, then I'd file complaints with your (and theirs0 State Attorney General, the CFB,FTC & FCC..

Caller won't identify who they are. Called number back and just a recorded message stating that one their reps would be right with me. I hung up. No identifying names. Only shows on caller ID as 800 Caller. Whats the point of paying for caller ID with privater numbers blocked if these jerks don'y ave to show themselves?!? Time warner cable sucks

It's definitely Credit One Bank. I'm working with a consumer advocate group who has verified this for me. They're very aggressive, calling once an hour daily, from 8 AM to usually 2 or 3 in the afternoon (although sometimes it continues until 9). I've tried blocking the number, but learned by experience they'll just keep using new lines. I was told by my case manager that the only way to stop it is in a type of "cease & desist" letter (just writing to them & telling them to stop calling), which Credit One Bank insists must be notarized. The website for the advocacy group is ucan.net - & they can help you learn how to deal with unlawful, unfair, and deceptive practices by financial institutions, particularly creditors and their bill collectors.

Whether or not the debt is legitimate, you do continue to have rights that protect you against overly aggressive & sometimes unlawful collection practices. If you are like the majority, you're struggling to make ends meet at the same time you're struggling to clear your debt. The need to hire a lawyer is rare, since there are great resources available to you, - FREE of charge. One of the many resources like this is United Consumer Advocacy Network @ www.ucan.net - which is the group I am working with as I try to resolve my personal financial woes brought on by a long story we've can more than likely all re-tell.
Being on a Do Not Call List won’t help in collection situations, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do anything. Actually, getting a debt collector or creditor to stop calling/contacting you is a fairly simple process involving sending what's known as a “cease & desist” letter. This basically tells them to stop contacting you & after it has been sent, the phone calls should stop.  I used the search phrase "cease & desist letter debt collector template"  and found some great resources (again, available for free). While there were to choose from, personally I liked the cease & desist template from Texas Tech University. It's a downloadable Microsoft Word .doc file, that you can fill out on your computer, allowing you to use it for multiple creditors if needed before printing, signing & sending it out.
I hope this helps. I've been on both sides of this - being the "owee" & the "ower" - & I am not advocating ignoring your debts. I am just saying there are right & wrong ways to go about things - and some of these folks walk a REALLY thin line between the two.

This is Credit One Credit card. With the amount of time's they call, it IS considered harassment. I got tired of it and finally called them back and told them it is illegal for them to call me 30+ times in one day. They stopped for a few weeks but started back. They aren't going to stop until sued.

Fill out a police report at the station with as much detail as you can.
Try and obtain their address and send them a letter demanding that they cease and desist from contacting you via phone.
It is against the law for anybody, or company to harass you, this includes by phone, and yes, even credit card companies.

You can file a police report on them with as much information that you can gather. That's where you would start, so that if it is a phishing scam you have on record that have filed a formal complaint.

I am tired of receiving these calls not only on my cell, but also at work. I have told them not to call, and they have refused to stop. It is becoming a problem at work. How do I stop it since they won't when I tell them to?
