They say they are a gas supplier to peoples gas.  But they couldn't give us any information without an extention number.

Got a call at work from Adam, with an English accent, who said he was calling from Spark about lowering my gas rate.  He said he was calling from Florida. Spark is a real utility company that may be legitimate in California.
I was confused at first because we sell products to PG&E.  He did not have my home phone number, so then I got suspicious.  He wanted my customer number.

Call from Laura saying they can help us save on our gas bill, and that there is a 100.00 USD rebate awaiting for us because they did not hear from from us by mail.  We never received this mail.  Told us to call 866 479 7493 ext 744, mentioned something about Choice Program.  Never called her back.

"Victor" called repeatedly, leaving a message for the person in charge of the Nicor Gas bill in the non-profit I help out at.  Tried calling back, initially wondering if it was truly Nicor, and got "the answering service" woman.  She said she had no idea what company he was calling from; that she could only give me his voicemail.  I left a message telling him not to call back, but he just keeps at it.  (Outside of regular business hours, I might add)

Got a call promising to save us on our gas bill. Did not mention that they were with another company. I called our gas company and they never heard of such an offer. They informed me that they were probably trying to sell us gas. Those tricksters!

Got a call from "Tom Boggs" Sr. Executive who claims that our account had been flagged that we overpaid on our Nicor bill.  So i said well can you just send a refund and he claimed he could not do that without speaking to accounts payable and getting a customer # or some weird thing.  Anyway i'm sure it is a scam.  The number our accounts payable was supposed to call back was 866-479-7493 - ext. 510.  I'm 99.9999% sure this is a scam.  i hardly think Nicor would need to call their customers to send a refund!  What a hoot!
