Did not get a phone call but received an email supposedly  from AT&T Wireless with this message:
Because you have not contacted us, your employment/student related monthly wireless service discount was not   applied. Questions: 866-482-4608.

We did not call that number but called the normal AT&T customer service number.  AT&T said it was a scam.

Thank you for this info. Just bought a new phone and received the same text from this number telling me to call. I googled the number and came across your info.

Receive phone call at 12:30AM pacific time saying my AT&T account will be blocked and want me to press 1 to talk to a representative.  I just hung up.

Received an email from same number as 1st notice and assumed it was a scam giving me 10 days to respond.

I do not have AT&T at home or work.  I received the call as a voice message, so I looked it up and appreciate what all of you have said.

Rang my cell even though I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY - I do not even have AT & T.

Recently received multiple calls from this number over the last 24 hours on my work phone. Called the number back. Told me that my AT&T employee discount was about to expire. Since I do not work for AT&T ...and do not pay the bill on this phone, I just hung up. Didn't want to get into a (urination) contest as I was in a great mood. If I get really angry today and feel the need to scream at someone, I may just call them back.

I received a call on Verizon cell phone. Robut voice said AT&T service would be terminated unless I entered
AT&T pass code. Sounded bogus.

They called three times; it comes up as an unknown call. When you call back, it says they are part of the AT&T discount program. The message sounds like it could really be AT&T but it is not because AT&T phone numbers come up with a user ID

I switched two lines to AT&T several days ago. Today I got an email stating to call this number within 10 days to verify employment/student status or the discount will not apply. Seemed suspect to me so I decided to research it. Lo and behold I come here and find out it's scam. It looks like whomever is doing this is phishing for personal info. Thanks to everyone for calling them out.

Have received numerous emails in last month advising me to call...lol. Haven’t been a student in decades!

Said it was ATT discount verification and I had 10 days to respond or lose discount.

I actually made a call to this number when I wanted to get an AARP discount.  I was told by ATT to call it...and all they told me was to go to an ATT store to get verification.  So it seems to be an actual number, but given the responses above, it appears that someone is spoofing that number.

Had a black female knocked  on my door and asked if I had att. Then if I was a veteran and she gave me a form to fax in and get a veteran discount. She did not seem right so I looked up this number and came across this. The papers she gave me didn’t have any ATT logo or any other sign it was real or lij. Think it is a scam.

Is this a scam? Just received a 2nd email message with a one line statement saying I had to call this number within 3 days or lose my employment/student wireless service discount. I did get a new AT&T wireless account, but no employment/student discount was offered.
