No caller id displayed. No voice mail received. Attempted to call it back and got a Chinese (or other Asian) language only set of voice prompts.  (I don't speak Chinese so I don't know what the prompts are.)

received a call from this number. did not recognize the number so did not pick up. the phone kept ringing for over 5 minutes until i finally unplugged the phone from the jack...........

Got a call from 1-866-482-5599. (lot of background noise, but someone said "Do you speak Chinese. Didn't feel like talking to him, so I hung up, but am wondering if they could use any phone info I have.will check with my cell company.

No message left. Annoying.

Caller said "Do you speak Chinese?"
I said "no"
He said "oh, sorry about that".
Then hung up.

After some web research and calling the number (I understand some Chinese) I was able to determine that this number belongs to iTalk Global Communications, Inc. of Vienna, VA. www.italkbb.com.  They've called us about once a week for the last 2-3 years and failed to remove us from their list even though we've been on the state & federal No Call lists since 2003.  I guess that doesn't matter if you happen to have a Chinese surname and these punks want to pimp you for their phone service.  I failed state and federal No Call complaints and am writing their CEO a letter letting him know that if we hear from his company again, he'll hear from us in court!  If you'd like to send him a little note of your own:

Same here.  Non-solicitated phone call.   Say they are from italkbb.  I say , what italkbb?   Then, they ask me whether I speak Chinese.  I say no.  Silent and I hang up.

Probably this company buy call list off hackers.  Teach their employee 2 lines of english and order them start calling.  They can't even describe what italkbb is.

I called them back and what i got was tellax and then another day i decided to call and i got royal rbc insurance so as you can see this is not a very reliable company and i will show you why as no one asked me what my language was lol .

Hope this helps you to verify who they are also if they ask to you hit or prompt you to hit mubers on your phone do not do it as it will give you a charge on your phone bill as you will be the sucker who will pay for the call even though they called you its called reverse charges. Oh did i mention that i used to work for rodgers at&t lol this is how i know how this is done so you also now know as they say byer beware!!!

This #?%!"$%?/$| company keeps calling everynight even though our number is on the federal "Do not call" list. As soon as you speak in another language than Cantonese or Mandarin, they hang up on you. Everybody in the house  yelled at them a couple of times in Chinese or English

it is rediculous receiving this call on Sun. any way to stop them, or even sue them if they keep calling.   my no. has already on do not call list, why they still can call my no.  any help would be appreciated.

Who should I contact when I get harassing calls?

Local phone companies have varying policies on whether to call the phone company or the police first. Some recommend that you first call the phone company's business office and explain the problem. A representative will connect you with the "annoyance desk." Other phone companies may require you to file a formal complaint with local law enforcement before they will deal with the matter. To find out what your phone company's policy is, contact the business office and ask for assistance.

For serious threats, if life or property are threatened, or if calls are obscene, you should call the police and file a report. Provide as much information to law enforcement as you can. Indicate the gender of the caller and describe the caller's voice. Note the time and date of the call(s). What did the caller say? How old did he/she sound? Did the caller seem intoxicated? Did he/she have an accent or speech impediment? Was there any background noise? Was a phone number/name displayed on the Caller ID device?

What can my local phone company do if I am receiving harassing calls?

If the calls are frequent or particularly threatening, the phone company can set up a "Trap" on your phone line. The Trap allows the phone company to determine the telephone number from which the harassing calls originate. You must keep a log noting the time and date the harassing calls are received. Traps are usually set up for no more than two weeks. The phone company does not charge a fee for Traps.

A phone company service called Call Trace may also be able to help track down harassing calls. Immediately after receiving a harassing call, you enter the code *57 on your phone and the call is automatically traced (1157 on rotary phones). Call Trace is easier than using a Trap since the customer does not have to keep a phone log. But Call Trace technology works only within the local service area. (Look in the "Customer Guide" section of the phone book or the phone company's web site for a description of your local service area.)

Call Trace must be set up in advance by the individual receiving harassing calls, and it requires a fee for use. However, in situations where the phone company would ordinarily use a Trap, you might not be charged if the phone company suggests that Call Trace be used as an alternative. Be sure to ask.

The information collected from Call Trace or from a Trap is turned over to law enforcement personnel, not the customer. Law enforcement officers try to stop the harassing calls by either warning or arresting the harasser. With both Call Trace and a Trap, your phone conversations are not listened to or recorded by the phone company.

the cox.net and google.com both are with police watching you too, they've collected all the spams mails and it's mean and abusive,no doubt.

Chinese caller asking to sell some phone service, I told him to hold until he hung up.  He wanted to speak in Chinese. Very persistent and called back and just left him on hold again.  If he wastes my time, I could easily make him waste his

I do not like this company! So I told them "If your company calls me one more time then I will make a complaint to FTC at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
They was apoligize to me and then they hung up. If they do call me again, I will submit the complaint to the FTC.

They ask if you speak Chinesse.  Note, this is a toll free hotline number 866-482-5599, so the next time you are in a mall or at another wall of payphones, call them back.  They will pay for the $0.50 for the phone call plus the long distance and toll free hotline charges x 100 phone calls.  I have done this to other telemarketers and scammers, problem solved!  They now have to pay for my 100 repeated phone calls from the wall of payphones.

They called this evening to speak in Chinese a they hung up.  Called back and recording in Chinese to choose options, I assume to switch phonelines.
