Phishing Scam: Fake PayPal transaction

Caller claimed that a suspicious additional phone line had been added to my account and they wanted to verify my information. In addition, a text was sent to my phone in which I had to verify the code.

Caller claimed that they were from Verizon claiming someone from another state was trying to open 2 lines on my account started asking me questions he thought he was doing good until I asked him if he was from Verizon what is my wife's number need less to say he couldn't answer that told him quit trying to scam people he hung up on me lol

Same person ("Brian Soto") has called twice claiming to be Verizon fraud department. They state someone has accessed your account and is purchasing a phone in another state. They will ask you to change your password on your Verizon account to something along the lines of "fraud (the last 4 digits of your phone number)". They then access your account and order a phone. They then ask for your email to send you the cancellation. You'll get an email from actual Verizon showing the order and then the scammer will send you an email showing it has been fake cancelled. THEN they open an Affirm account in your name using only your email and phone number. They will tell you they (Verizon) is in partnership with Affirm and that is the method of payment that the alleged scammer used to purchase the phone in the first place. So in order to cancel the Affirm account, you have to give them the code that was texted to you. That's how they access the Affirm account and make additional purchases. In short, just hang up.
