Got a letter in the mail on computer paper claiming to be from US Airlines, that we won a free set of plane tickets to anywhere and just had to call this number.  The letter is signed from the vice president of the company.  Found on other web sites that this is a credit card scam.  Others have received the same letter, hand addressed and post marked from Phoenix AZ.  The names change on the letter but the crapy fake letterhead was a dead giveaway.

Definitely a scam.  There is no such firm as "US Airlines."  There is a US Airways (formerly USAir).

I also received this same letter  - that you have won 2 round trip airline tickets from any airport valued at $1,400  Certain restrictions apply. That we have been trying to contact you - this is your last attempt. I f we do not hear from you soon, we may need to issue the ticket vouchers to the alternate.

Well how many people (suckers) were selected for this scam?

Got the same letter. Dead give away was the envelope addressed in sloppy hand writing with no return address. Who can stop these people? They are scam artists trying to get credit and personal information from american citizens lying to them that they won round trip tickets on an airline that no longer exists.
