- Dianna GuirkThey have called me several times claiming that are attempting to collect a debt. I called back & they said it was for a $500 payday loan I took out on 2011, which I didn't. I asked then to send me everything in writing, as any legal company would do. I haven't seen any paperwork, yet keep getting calls from different numbers
- Call type: Debt collector
- Dawn| 1 replyDoes anyone have the address for these morons? I heard MCO but I need the address so I can write them a lovely little cease letter. They just called me and said I have a debt and I said anything I have was written off on my bankruptcy and he said no maa'm this was never written off and I said yes it was written off 3 years ago! Even if I had the debt, the debt itself is over six years old. And I said send me something in writing and he said the only thing you will get in writing is something form a process server. I said fine! They can bring it on cause they are not a legitimate company and are doing nothing but trying to use scare tactics to get money that doesn't belong to them. If anyone has the address for these morons will you please post it. And I encourage everyone to file complaints, write a cease letter and contact the attorney general about them. Lets wipe them out!

They use 844-279-7431; 866-487-6500; 808-3281. Keep leaving messages on my home number for a person who doesn't live here, I have no clue who this person is. So just called, the recording came on the line this call is solely for .., if this is not....hang up. I did that yesterday and they called me right back. So tonight it said to press zero to speak to someone, so I did, got strange music for about 30 seconds, then went to a fast busy signal. Here is what you can do. www.fcc.gov. File a complaint. Not much may happen, but it will be on record.
- marie replies to Stop| 1 replyjust call FCC on them if enough of us call then maybe something will be done.

- Resident47 replies to johndoeAmazing how often PDL thugs are never debt collectors, yet they are happy to accept your money for a debt to supposedly appease lawyers and halt process servers. This ruse has never worked on the FTC and it creates FDCPA liability even before we get to the false threats and flimsy claims. Besides, you should not have to beg for a paper dunning letter. The Act compels collectors to send one bearing specific disclosures shortly after their first contact.
FTC and CFPB material on US federal collection law:

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/search ... debt-collection - Resident47 replies to marieOnly half right .... The FCC has next to no jurisdiction over debt collection. The CFPB and FTC share that wheelhouse.
Anyone hassled by these goons can also consider suing for FDCPA violations. Intel from other threads for MCO, aka Midwestern Alliance, LLC, places it unsurprisingly in the Buffalo region and links it to the nefarious UPG LLC. I see someone in this thread puts it in Georgia. So there may be two fraud shops with the same acronym or the same one diffusing itself to confuse regulators. - Resident47 replies to OH2AZGal... which is the wrong agency anyway, as I've noted on the lead page. Correct complaint channels include the CFPB, FTC, and attorneys general.
- Resident47 replies to Fed UpNot much will happen because, again, the FCC does not have oversight of debt collectors. Correct complaint channels include the CFPB, FTC, and attorneys general.
- Resident47 replies to JANELLE BATYYour callers do not maintain this site or this web page. No callers can magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You will have to send your demands directly to the company. USPS Certified is best for PDL collection thugs.
- CWG40 replies to Anonymous #2 againReport them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand. - CWG40 replies to AmySGQ Ltd is a zombie creditor often used by debt scammers because the debt doesn't exist is is way beyond the statute of limitations. Part of the Bahamas Marketing Group, long associated with debt scamming operations in the US.
