- AgrivatedandUnemployedunknown caller id, no information on the display other than the number.
They left a rude ultimatum saying id better call back within
a couple days or have my unemployment benefits delayed or halted.
They had left a message to call back abour unemployment services in virginia, usa.
There is a long wait on hold on callback.
Why would they block or not show their calling number? if this is legit??
If they had showed up on caller id I would have answered on my cell they was calling. - AgrivatedandUnemployedThis is a "valid" number for the unemployment services that called me in virgina, i verified it with the local employment commission here in Virginia...
I did voice a protest about them blocking their caller id info though. - JoanneThis number is from the VA Employment Commission. One of their employees, Sherrie, left a wonderful message following up on a conversation from the previous day. She was just letting me know about the resolution on my issue. This is GREAT customer service at a time in one's life when you are feeling most venerable. Bravo to the VEC for hiring such caring and efficient employees. Thank you to Sherrie.

- Joe katz| 2 repliesI do not care what anyone on here says about having gotten through to the VA unemployment commission with this number. Any scammer with half a brain can put some fake reviews of their number on a website like this. I am absolutely not giving my social security number, bank account number, checking account number and routing number over the phone to a number that was flagged as "spam" by my carrier, has an 866 number like all the other scammers instead of a typical govt agency phone, claims to have sent me a pin number that I never received...but lets me log in anyway when I don't have the number. The only thing about this call that is even remotely not suspicious is that it is giving me the run around when I try to do what it tells me, keeps sending me to the wrong menu, or starting the process over. It is clearly designed by someone who has no idea what they are doing, or someone whose intent is to make it impossible for anyone to file a claim.
At any rate, it is not reasonable to ask citizens to take such an outrageous risk with our financial and personal information to obtain unemployment payments. We have a statutory created right to those benefits. If this really is the VEC calling, and they want to deny my claim because I missed their deadline, i will look forward to seeing them in court and watching their lawyers try to argue that a shady phone call from a number associated with past criminal activity, giving the respondent 48 hours to reply with a pin number they never received, is due process.- Caller: Scam claiming to be VEC

- A customer who received a call from this| 1 replyI received a call from 866 832-2363 giving 48 hours to reply or benefits would be delayed or halted. Caller stated 866 487-9557 was the deputy's number, but did not indicate their name; so it's suspicious to me. VEC usually gives more time to respond, sending written correspondence. I'm gonna call the sheriff's office, consumer affairs office, DSS, & investigate further before I call back.

- Natassja replies to Joe katz| 1 replyI totally agree! I just had the same situation happened. Theh called Saturday morning, saying to call by 9:45am on Tuesday. When I called the number back it says they don't open to Wednesday.. Hmm! I have until Tuesday to call with my info but voice mail says they're not opening back up until Wednesday
- TeeI received a letter that looked as if it were photocopied indicating I needed to call them by Next Monday ( today is Wednesday). It says someone tried to call my number but my number was wrong. The number that was given as the contact # would not accept my ssn but when I called other numbers for VEC my pin and # was taken without an issue

- Tykera BrooksCall before Apr 2nd relating to my main
- Shawn flannaganThis number is 100% real and not a scam. When they call you most of the time (currently) they are calling you from home, where they're working from due to covid-19. This is why the number shows up as private number or blocked. They don't want everyone calling them at 3am asking about there benefits.
