Hi this is Betty I'm calling with the Student Loan advisory board. I'm just reaching out to you in regards to your federal student Loan balances and I've got some great news. You've been prequalified for the student loan forgiveness program however it is imperative that I speak with you just as soon as possible before these programs change. You can reach me at 866-503-0106. I look forward to speaking with you and have a blessed day.

Jon, Chris, and D. More likely than not, the people behind this call know nothing of your student loan. If you search 'student loan advisory board' on the Better Business Bureau, you'll see you should NOT trust these types of calls. I heard the same voice use 10 different names--that is not legitimate or trustworthy. I'm guessing it's a digitally produced voice, and not the same American woman using different names.

Jon.. and other responders below:  ..it's an ABSOLUTE SCAM.  I keep getting these SAME recordings multiple times, even though my SL have ALWAYS been paid on time.  This phony "company" uses the SAME old recording but change callers' names/originating phone #s to try to fool people.

My advice is to BLOCK + DELETE + FORGET these obvious crooks and just deal DIRECTLY with your SL originating lender (bank that financed your loan or the US Dept. of Education official repayment center).

BTW, here are some good "Scam Alert" red flag hints:  1)  the #s don't match.  In this case "Betty" calls from a phone # that's totally different from the 800 number she asks you to call in response + 2) she wraps up her message with a "call me yesterday" urgent pitch.  In this case, she pressures you with "it's IMPERATIVE!!" that you call "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE THESE PROGRAMS CHANGE!!!  This is a CLASSIC fraudster/scamster/high pressure/sales tactic red flag..  She's trying to push your emotional buttons, put the fear into you to call NOW "or else".

NO established and reputable legitimate SL repayment companies/gov. agencies would act like this or use multiple names on the same recording or multiple changing phone #s.

For added measure, I called back and left my own recording (a flushing toilet) before flushing these creeps out of my iPhone and life....)

Kate has the best advice, block and delete!!!  I have received calls from the caller “Betty” several times for probably over a year.  Amazingly, voice is exactly the same vocal tone and I believe the wording seems to be the same.  I am 69 years old, and have never had a student loan.  I had researched some loan structures when my kids were going to college but that’s it.  My children have paid off all their loans , any connection there does not exist.  I do not believe there is a connection but who knows.  If there is an organization or organizations to report these fakers to please post so others may benefit.  Tnx.
