- Linde"Cindy" called on 9/26/07 and asked me to return her call at 866-503-9018. She didn't say what it was about, but I'm pretty sure I know. I have been getting persistent calls from multiple collection agencies since late February because of the deadbeat (Theresa Bartlett in AL) that had my cell phone number before me. In addition to this call, I've received recent calls from Oxford Management Services (800-982-6096) and from Blockbuster in Prattville, AL. ** I called the 866# and it said it was KCA Financial Services, INC regarding a Columbia House DVD account.
- Caller: KCA Financial Services, Inc
- luvlylisa1215I called the 866# and it said it was KCA Financial Services, INC regarding a Columbia House DVD account.
**I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH COLUMBIA HOUSE**
The rep reffered to a reference number that was not left in the message, and since I would not give her any of my personal information, she could not and would not verify who the account is for, so hopefully for them, they have the wrong number for another person.- Caller: KCA Financial

- JayI got a call on my cell phone from this number, instructing my wife to call them. I have had a Columbia House DVD account before, but it was closed with credit balance, which they refunded. My wife has never had a Columbia House DVD in her name.
- PersonManReceived a call on my cell phone from 866-503-9018. Same description as others here. KCA Financial about a Columbia House DVD account with only two available options (Pay Bill or Dispute). I've never even heard of the Columbia House DVD program, let alone signed up for it.

- Folkmuse| 1 replyI received a call from KCA Financial this morning regarding a closed bank account from 1997. I had opened the account to cash an insurance check that was to be electronically transferred to an old account that was closed 2 years prior, in 95. I had to open it as it was the only way to get it cashed. I mentioned that I was not interested in keeping the account open and was told it would be closed once the check was cashed and I did not keep it active.
I called a month later to ask if I needed to come in and take care of it and they said it would be taken care of.
In 2002 I received a call from a collection agency regarding a bill due of over $100, the account was not closed and I was being billed each month for charges even though there was no activity nor deposits. I hadn't even received a statement for a number of years.
I followed up on this and it appeared to be taken care of.
KCA had purchased the account as unpaid. A few weeks back I received the first call from them, they demanded payment immediately. I got a little irritated right off the bat as they were far from polite about it. They were downright belligerent and seem to get off on being so. Soon it was as shouting match and when I tried to get a little more civil they became less so. There was not attempt at talking about this. They reminded me it was recorded and I asked for a copy of the recording the avoided the subject.
I mentioned that my wife said she had paid it off as she was tired of the whole thing it did not stop the abusive behavior.
This morning they began immediately with abuse, and asked for a credit card to pay this off, as if I were going to give it to them. I asked for my account number and other information, they wouldn't give it to me but again demanded my credit card to pay for this. In no way was I going to give someone my credit card number, particularly one who would not give me an account information. He insisted that they had sent a letter informing me of this collection, not a certified nor registered letter. They insisted that that was good enough. When I mentioned to them I didn’t received such a letter they said that was between me and the post office. So again I asked more information on an account number, they insisted that they did not have to do so as it was in the letter. Then they again demanded my credit card number or they would put into my credit report a refusal to pay the balance which went for over 5 years before an attempt to collect by anyone. When I mentioned that in the State of California that if there is no attempt to collect after 1 year you can no longer do so. To which the caller mentioned that once they have bought the collection that did not apply. We will see so.
I would love to have a copy of that supposed tape on both conversations, first of all they have to notify you at the start that you are being recorded, they did not do so, if you say it is being monitored that is not the same as being taped.
There was no attempt at a civil conversation, these guys get off on being abusive that is for sure.- Caller: KCA Financial

- Armed and Safe(tm)| 2 repliesI have been receiving calls from 866-503-9018 on my cell phone. As I don't answer blocked caller id calls, I have no idea what they want. I am not going to call them back.
- Tieraney replies to Armed and Safe(tm)| 1 replyKCA Finacial called me in reference to an overpayment from my formal employer Chase. I disputed with chase over a year ago and it has never been resolved. I never heard back from chase and they wouldnt return my calls. Then six months later I started getting calls from KCA. The most recent was a call from KCA that sent me to some guy who didn't even know who I was and why they had called me. After a few min. of trying to find out why they called they sent me to this other guy. He then yelled at me for calling him for a mere $200.00. I tried to explain that I didn't call and all I wanted was to resolve the issue (by resolve I mean Im not paying it because I don't owe them money)So then he yelled at me and said he is busy and has other calls to attend to. I was being very nice and just asking question, trying to find out why they were calling me. He then told me that they were recording the call. I started laughing because I wasn't even being mean. This really made him mad. So he started yelling again and eventually hung up. This company in horrible. And I still don't know why they are calling me now.
- Confused replies to TieraneyI had a similar experience as Tieraney. Chase claimed they overpaid me as an employee and 18 months after I am gone, they send a letter demanding the money. Naturally I did not pay and began getting calls from KCA a few months later. I forwarded KCA the letter sent to Chase outlining the details and that I would not pay. KCA has been calling and I was recently told by one of their intelligent collectors that I will be audited by the IRS if I do not pay. I laughed and told him great, I have nothing to hide and this only irritated him and he hung up. Upon calling back, I asked to speak with his supervisor and he told me they only deal with people who pay their bills and since I did not I was out of luck and hung up again. What a classless bunch.
- ceejay| 1 replysame as confused, chase stated they overpaid me, i was put on sick leave at the end of november, and i myself asked to return to work a week later, my supervisor told me to wait for paperwork that was needed to be filled out by a dr prior to returning to work. i waited a week, no papers. called my supervisor, no answer, she was on vaction for 2 weeks. asked for her supervisor, no luck. called every week for almost a month, finally in early jan i receive a call from Chase HR asking why i have not been to work in over a month. I explained that no paperwork was sent to me, altho i have been calling time and time again. about a week later, i recive the paperwork and return to work. the lady calls me again saying i have to repay my sick leave...i point out my last date o site and then the date of the paperwork recieved...almost 2 months...
so she states that she beleives that something was wrong, and it will be invesigated. I receive NO follow up calls for over 2 years...then KCA calls me saying they will put a lien on my tax return, stating that my refund should be here soon (which i have NOT yet even started to do my taxes) then he tells me that i never returned to work, which is another lie...
he then tells me he is 'done trying to work with me' threatens that there will be a lien on my refund and hangs up- Caller: KCA

- Helped by KCA FinancialI just called the 866-503-9018 number and press 1 "to pay my bill." A lady picked up and was polite and asked what I was calling in regards to. I told the lady I keep receiving calls from this number. She asked, for my phone number to look up the account. She told me it was someone else and I said, that's not me. she then removed my name from there account. We'll see if that really happens. I hope this can help some of you guys.

Thnaks Guys. - MaryI received a call from this number today, no message was left. I'm assuming it's a scam.
- Johnny| 1 replyI received a call from this number, I looked it up at this site and stated to Denise, that I read online that this number is a call about some Columbia House DVD scam. I told her that I never had a CH account and to remove my number. She said this is not Columbia House, but that she would mark my cell number as a "bad number". I guess that is what they consider it if you too smart to fall for the scam and won't give any personal information.
- Caller: Wouldn't say
- scott replies to JohnnyThis number claims to be a debt collection company named "State Collection." I personally do not know whether or not this is a scam or not. They have my personal information telling me I owe an x amount of money from an hospital bill but I am not sure that this is a legitimate company.
- Doug White replies to FolkmuseListen, in regards to your dealings with these people. DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT make a deal with them even for one penny. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, stuff can only be put on your credit report for up to seven years from your last transaction. Regardless of who the bank sells it to, or what the credit agency does. They are desperate because they know if they put it on your report, you can have it taken off immediately. They do not have a leg to stand on as you said you didnt make any transactions or do anything since 1997. They can not do anything. Get their address and send them a certified letter to cease and desist from all contact with you. You can sue them if they call you again after they receive that letter.
I am not an attorney, just somebody who has been screwed by credit agencies in the past and decided to fight back.
