Automated call after went to work.  It woke up the wife that no feeling well.  Did not say who was calling.  Hung up when she hit option 2 to let them know I was not home.

They are a Collection Agency.  Impossible to work with.   I hope these people can sleep at nights.

Ok.. this [***].. called and said i owed 75'000 on a credit debt with Bank of America dated back to 2003,.  first of all she called me cause I'm listed, secondly she called me by my nick name. she said how was i gonna pay it back.  i told her.. tell me my name, and she again said ,my nick name, so why would I have a debt under that i have never applied for credit under my nick name, thirdly i have a bankrupt dated back to 1999.. in which no one has given me credit..period.  so How someone got 75,000 is crazy i want to meet this people. So I told her to do what she has to do i 'll change my phone number so she wont bother me again and be unlisted. something aint right with this collection whatever.. she had everything wrong

got a call yesterday re: my daughter.  I did not call back.  I am on the do not call list, and I understand these types of calls are illegal anyway.  How do we report these folks?

These people are horrible. Called looking for a person in our family that is dead!!!! horrible horrible company.. just hang up!!

got a call from this number today from someone with an ATTITUDE! She said she was with some law firm, wish I oaid better attention to the name she used..so honey if you check these psots...SCREW YOU

I keep getting voice mails for my Father from a Mr. Clark. Keeps saying he need to talk to him about some "very personal things" Im guessing from the posts above its about money. Very VERY annoying, I say if you get a call from them ignore it.

Keep getting calls from this company for some guy I have never heard of. I told them "I never heard of that guy, he doesnt live here and I have had this number for 2 years.  Please remove it."
Well, they have NOT removed it, so now I just news with them....tell them "he is having a huge bowel movement...he keep screaming- let me get him" and leave the phone on the counter, lol....longest anyone has stayed on is 7 mins and 40 seconds.  
If they won't remove my number, I will keep having fun with them...!!!

This place is trash they keep calling and asking for someone that don't even live here.

Rec'd a call.  Was told I owe over $1,000 to a credit card that I have never had.  Told him that I would check with the place of business he said they were trying to collect the debt for.

Picked up from voice message. Caller said his name was STEVEN SCOTT. He did not say where he was calling from - just gave me a confirmation number. I promptly added this number to my blocked list.

I keep getting calls from this number.  Every two minutes at times and other times staggered throughout the day.  I did get a letter regarding a supposedly bad debt which I do not owe.  I did write them, certified, return receipt, telling them I did not owe and to quit calling.  They continue and are calling my cell phone.

Unfortunately, your letter probably was not sufficient to both deny the debt and issue them a "cease and desist" order for telephone calls. You initial letter should have stated two things:

1. A demand for a Debt Validation Notice meeting all the requirements of the FDCPA which includes:
 a. Name of Original Holder of the Debt
 b. copy of a signed agreement with your signature
 c. payment history including when the last payment was made
 d. proof that the collection agency now owns the debt
 e. proof that the agency has legal right to collect debt in your state
  f. complete name, business address and phone number for the agency
 

2. A demand that all future communications be only in writing via USPS.

After you receive the Debt Validation Notice you have 30 days to dispute the debt.  You also need to know the statute of limitation on suing to collect a debt in your state.  Go to the FTC website and get the Consumer Guide to the FDCPA.  Even if the debt is not yours, it provides solid advice on how to respond to dispute the debt and how to stop phone calls.  Also be aware that if the company calling you is violating the FDCPA you can sue them but there is a short window of opportunity for you to take action. Consult with an attorney that specializes in this area of law for assistance if you need to go further than the steps above.
