i actually have an uncommon name so even if someone has a thick accent i can usually tell if they are looking for me.  when "Anna" (x66514) left a message on my cellphone this morning i was surprised that the person she was looking for has an unsual name too.  i can understand two similar names being mixed up but this guy's name does not resemble mine at all.  if i call them back and tell them to stop calling me, will they?  they have called several times now and i fear it is only going to get worse as this guy isn't paying off his debt.

I've been getting the same. All you have to do is call them back and act pissed off. Tell them that you want your number taken off the list and you're not the person theyre trying to get a hold of. Don't let them get a word in. If they start to talk back, you raise your voice and use bad language. Shut them up until they give in or ask for a supervisor. Let them know you had talked to a attorney about the harrassment

I have gotten calls from them for over two years now. Sometimes several times a day. No message, but if I answer for some cheap entertainment, they tell me I owe a bank. I have zero loans in my name, and don't owe anything except my monthly utility bills. When I ask them to send something in writing, they refuse and tell me that is not how they do business. They tell me they sent me a letter in July 2007. This is May 2008 and they wont send another one. I do know that if you send them a letter to not contact you at home via the phone they can not call you. Correspondence must then be in writing.
I seriously doubt they are calling within the United States. I have yet to get someone that actually speaks intelligible English, that's why it's so entertaining to answer the phone, just to let them sound stupid

Our company receives multiple calls from this number every day. If we answer, they hang up immediately. I tried calling the number back & all it did was play music. This is very disruptive of our business day and is nothing less than harassment.

Call at 8:11 AM, no caller I.D. available, so let my secretary (Answering Machine) take the call.

In horribly spoken english:
"Hi. This message is for <insert what was probably supposed to be MY name entirely butchered>. Please call me back at (866)505-9315. My name is Teresa and you can reach me directly at my extension (x66543). This is an important business matter and not a sales matter, so I would appreciate it if you call me back today."

Tried calling three times, but after being stuck on plain music for 15 minutes each time with no answer despite being told I was the next caller up, I hung up. If she has a direct extension, there's no propmt to ever be able to plug it in, and I have better things to do with my time.

Thanks to those who've posted before so I knew not to continue to waste time and effort on this.

866-505-9315 stating that they want to verify information before they can give me information about an account. I will not verify any information with them and the call all the time.

these people are really stupid. and then one time they called and i was like i think u have the wrong #. and there like no ur # is and then they said it and im like please stop calling and they wont leave me along.

We receive repeated calls from this number but when we answer they just hang up. I called the number back and they identified themselves as "Nationwide Credit." I told them to stop calling our number or else I would report them to the police for harrassment. A Google search identifies them as a collection agency. They called trying to get personal information about one our members, which we of course refused to give and warned the person about whom they were asking. He called them and they had the wrong person and tried to get personal information out of him, such as social security number. It can only be speculated that they did a Google search themselves for this person's name and found him on our web site and called us trying to find him, even though the person they were searching for is not the person they found on our site.

The calls come from different phone numbers each day two times or more a day.  They never leave a message. They call when I am at work, so I cannot tell them to stop calling me.  I can't block the number b/c it is different each time but the caller ID says 800 Service.  I do not have any outstanding bills so I am not sure why they are bugging me.

i kept getting calls from this number, and it would ring once, then show as a missed call.  i read all this, and thought about why they dont ever leave a message.  I remembered i have a ringback tone, so when they call me, it starts playing, and i guess since they dont really understand english, they think its me talking and hang up. i have gotten a few voicemails and it says something like "this is (chellish or cherish) i am calling to confirm location on (my name) please call back at #############"

This number called my residence asking for someone that doesn't live there wanting to confirm something, I couldn't under stand what was left on the answering machine.  I know the person they were looking for and contacted them.  Later the phone rang and when my husband answered the phone they hung up.  I didn't call them back and have no plans to call them back.

Phoned my house.  Asked for someone whom I don 't know and insisted I must be his wife.  Then wanted my name.  I've had this number for 50 years.  Said he would call back later.  I am sure he will.  Very frustrating.  And we, the innocent citizens are at these collectors mercy.

Its surprising to know that you could understand the entire message and I assume,exactly the way it was delivered and yet you say it was left in horribly spoken english.wonder what you mean..

its a scam. They get your number from posting resumes on careerbuilder and monster.com. You can report them to the FCC with the do not call website. Bottom line, remove your phone number from your resume, and add the number to your speed dial on your cell phone - that way when they call, you can recognize the name and dump them into eternal voice mail hell.
