I just had this same call today!!  I called back, and it sounded like they were "West Asset Management" or something like that.  I couldn't tell for sure.  When I called, they said they run the assests of a company I have an account with.  When I asked which company it was, they said they didn't know, but they could mail me the info.  They needed me to verify my last 4 digits of my SSN and my address.  I declined.  Then they hung up.  VERY weird!!

Wife answered the phone and an automated machine asked for me by name... but mispronounced my name and said that it was not a solicitation but was an important matter and that I needed to return the call today and give them a reference number. The number they wanted me to call back is 866-512-8707

I got the same call around 1:45p.m. and left that message that this is no solicitation and is a very important matter and gave me a reference number that was 9 digits long. I called but no answer? they called me on my cell phone. number was 1-866-512-8707

Just received a call @ 3:27, giving me a reference number that was 9 digits long and this 1-866-512-8707 number to call back today. They said it was not a solicitation, but the funny thing is that they asked for me but I haven't given this number out to anyone except my family and dr's office and this phone is not listed in my name.

You are fortunate that they just hung up.  The reps that my mother and I talked to were either threatening or rude.  The rep that was rude to my mother said that there was no manager for her to talk to so that she could have her telephone number removed from the West Asset Management database.  The rep talked over her and then hung up on her!  The rep that I talked to said that she was trying to help me, so we could either continue the conversation or hang up.  This was because she didn't have any idea what she was trying to collect and I told her that I wasn't going to argue with her.  I didn't get the sense that either rep wanted to "help".  One of their many mailing addresses/contacts is 7171 Mercy Road, Omaha, NE  68106, Alan Metcalf.

Got a call today, just like the rest of you have. They mispronounced my name also. The cell they called is not registered to me either. Interesting.

I recieved a message from this number as well. They mispronounced my name also. It was said to be urgent. When I returned the call there were 4 'lead in' voices saying to be patient and then something about spanish speaking callers. I waited for about 4 "thank you for your patience, someone will be with you shortly". The company name wasnt anything Ive heard before. I think they keep you on the line to run up a bill they can collect on, about 4 minutes total for me, duh. These callers are insiduous criminals...BEWARE!

"West Asset Management"; the same as other calls; they call giving a 9 digit reference number; it looks like a big scam.

Same as above:got a call saying it's a very urgent matter and to call them back. called back and got a directory. Hung up. If they can't tell me what they're calling for or leave a message like a 'normal' business then they don't need to talk to me.

I get the same call but I know who they are, they're a collector for Qwest Telephone.

Receive calls 3 or 4 times a day for over a month.  Callers says an important message is there for "Jennifer Hartman," who is unknown at this number.  When you call the 866-512-8707 number, a recording answers that says the mailbox is full.  The caller is otherwise unidentified.  Telephone Qwest Customer Service to try to report it as a harrassing call and they are disinterested, except to sell you a service to block calls from that number.

Automated call...called back. The lady demanded my social security number and I told her I wasn't stupid...that she was phishing.

I have received several phone calls from this number.  The caller asks for a name who does not live at my address...first name incorrect.  Being skeptical, I "googled" this number and see that many others have had the same experience.  I DID NOT reply to the message and will not!  It has to be a scam of some sort.

They have been calling my house asking for my husband, My  husband passes away three months ago. I did get i rep on the phone when I called back I informed them that my husband had passed away so to please not call my house well he became very rude. I told him that when they had called before my 4 year old answered the phone and started to cry when she heared her dad's name, All he said was "well don't let your kids answer you phone" I was angry so I hung up and called my phone company to block that number.

West Coast Management is the "pre-collections" dept of Qwest phone carrier on the West Coast.  They have been calling me.  Apparently, I verbally agreed to a lower price as long as I used their services for a two year period.  I cancelled early to go with a different phone company and now they are charging me for the difference in savings.  I won't pay; I don't recall agreeing to a two contract and they cannot produce the proof.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE?

Recieved this call on my WORK phone, saying that the call is for my girlfriend. So I called them back and told them that they should not be calling this number.
I also know for a fact that we are in good standing with QWEST although we have been havng troubles with their service, mainly with their wireless program.

Received several automated calls during the day while I wasn't able to write the number down.  Finally caught up with the number and the whole message and realized that it wasn't a call for me.  I took the information and passed it on the person it was for, who said it was a collections call from Qwest and said they'd handle it.  I received several more calls, obviously the matter wasn't handled.  When I called the return number and referenced their case number and let them know that they hadn't reached the person they were calling for, but gave them all the phone numbers for the person they were looking for.  Told the operator that I'd appreciate it very much if they'd remove my WORK number from their database... haven't gotten a call from them again.
