he said his name was jose.  he said he couldn't fix my TV problem, but that he could give me the correct directv number to fix my TV.  he pretended to be a different branch of directive and tried to get me to purchase bundle internet and security packages.  

i hung up.

I inadvertently called this #, thinking it was Direct tv.... got a greeting that was not Direct tv... the guy answered saying he was from the protection plan/support.. I asked who this was & he repeated it, adding they handle the tech support for Direct tv and Dish network...  I told him that they had been out to my house to fix a problem and the problem is recurring.... they need to send someone out again.  I was asked if we have the protection plan... yes.... he supposedly looked it up under my phone #... said he could not find it... I told him we have it.... then his tune changed to oh.. you have the basic plan....  a service call starts at $49 and anything other than the inside equipment is my responsibility.    I told them if that is the case we don't want it .. please give me the correct Direct tv #.. he gave one I had never heard of.. so I found the # myself... sure sounds like a scam to me.

This number is a scam of direct tv. We called this number for tech support.  They refused to give me the real direct tv number. Tired selling me a protection plan of $80. Dont fall for this scam.

For example our customers may secure 2 years of coverage for a onetime fee of $79.99 as opposed to paying $7 plus dollars per month. Our plan covers basic satellite dish parts and components and technical support as well labor for technicians if a service call is needed. Our plan additionally has a service call reimbursement process in which we reimburse customers out of pocket expenses should their service provider charge them for a service call. In addition we offer other services such as home security, Internet, and bundle packages.

Of course this is a scam. your phone number is the same as direct 531-5000 only difference is 866 vs 800.

They called me, said to turn my tv on and give them my DirecTV receiver number. They had to realign with the satellite. I hung up on them. Called DirecTV directly and told them about the scam. Tv services just called me back and said they were from DirecTV, I said no you're not..she said as you wish ..hahaha. Huge scam, to get your information personal and financial.

Said he was from direct TV. Asked if I was watching my TV. Told me to use my remote to give him some number. I told him that I don't have direct TV. He wanted to know what I have. Told him none of his business. He began demanding the information. I hung up on him.
