They are LIARS!!   Microsoft will not call you unless you call them first.

NEVER give a cold caller access to your computer!!

A scam caller uses this phone #. They ID'd themselves as "the tech support company with which I have a one year contract," said they had detected several unauthorized users on my computer, asked me to give them access to my PC so they could correct the situation. Unfortunately I believed them and gave them a cc payment for their supposed work.  Re-learned lesson ... never ever trust unsolicited calls. I then called the company I had contracted with, they told me I had been scammed, and then "cleaned" my pc for a fee. I have had to cancel my credit card, change all passwords and am now closely monitoring all important accounts. Angry at myself and the tech-support scammer.

They called me from a private number but gave me this one to call back in case I had any questions. They claimed to be "Pc Support Plaza" or something and told me they were getting alerts from my computer that it was infected with Koobface virus and that my personal information was in jeopardy. My story is the exact same as Charlie's. I gave them all my information, along with my bank information. But after giving them access to over $350 and letting them "clean" my computer, I decided to do a little bit of research. This site helped me out a lot. I filed a fraud report with my bank and closed the account before they could take the money out. I opened up a new account, changed all my passwords, and am closely watching out for any suspicious activity on any account. If you encounter these people, PLEASE file a complaint, do not give them access to your computer, and do NOT give them any information. If you can't get any information from them, just hang up the phone. It is a scam.
