I received a call from this number stating they were Citibank. I opted to not give him information he requested for verification and stated I don't do this over the phone. I then received an email in several languages from BSSU-Citibank regarding an account and transaction and again asking for information. Citibank verified that this was illigitimate and requested I forward the email to them to spoof@citi.com

Voicemail was left on my phone I call back 1866 537 0871 with ref N0 814… and she asked my phone N0 +account N0 and my full name.Then she asked my S.security N0! I refused and I call Citi directly and their said it true and even give the same ref was left on my voicemail! I called it was closed so I will call again to know what’s going on?

Your post is confusing. You said you talked to Citi then said you called & "it was closed". Did you call a known phone number for Citi, such as the one found on their official website? And if you don't "know what’s going on", why did you mark the call as Valid?

There have been several fractured English posts today.  There is one over at WCM right now.  I think that they are bait posts.

Total scam. Transferred me to "customer service" which then asked me to input my social or full account number.

It's a scam. They asked me for a verification number that they left with the voicemail..

Got a letter from Citibank saying to call 866-537-0871. Looks like a scam.

100% scam. If there are any issues, Citibank sends you a message saying there is a new alert/message on your account and asks you to log in on your own (NOT sending you a link) to read it. They would never call and ask questions directly . This call was followed up with equally scam email, impersonating Citi and copying their logo, asking to open attached PDFs.

I got the same letter and it looks suspicious to me. Going to the branch tomorrow.

I got the same call but I didn't answer, and then I got a letter. I went to a Citibank branch, and the staff told me that this was true and that I needed to verify the origin of a recent large-amount remittance from my bank.

Then there was no reason to look the phone number up after you received that information so you must be part of this scam to get people's money and information on their bank accounts.  Maybe you should have stayed in school so that you could have gotten an honest job?

Yeah probably a scam. First thing they asked for was my name, after having left it in a message. Connection was horrible and speakers all had strong Indian accents.
