I'm living in Aruba and I received a call from a lady called Melissa Rodriguez 08-10-08 who told me that she work for RTI Travel and that I have won a vacation package of 5 days- 4 nights in Orlando at Disney World etc.and she explained to me everything about amenities etc. in a very professional manner and that I will receive a $ 1000 dinner voucher etc. After Orlando I will have a 5 days/4 nights stay in either Daytona Beach or Fort Lauderdale and she explained me again the benefit of both locations like someone who really work as a travelagent. Then comes the criuse to the Bahamas that departs from Point Everglades to the Bahamas. Then I have another vacation to Hawaii, which at this point they made me excited and happy to make me think that I won.I asked the lady where I have won this because so far I recalled i didn't fill in nothing, then I asked the lady where I have won this and she told me that maybe a friend put my name etc. Then she told me that in order to reserve this vacation I had to leave a deposit of $598,then she asked me which creditcard and the number. Then she transfer me to another lady in the reservation dept. that will record me etc.and that they will send me the vacation package in 14 days.Since I was so excited I gave them my creditcard # but then after I went to check on the internet and thanks for this website that I have cancelled it.

That happend to us too, my husband got a call from Andrew and my husband believed him and he paid $598, this was since august 21 and untill right now I'm still calling them to refund my money. I have been speeking to Vincent and the receptionist and they just keep me with lies. I told them that if I don't get my money back I am going to take them ourt and I will. Remember guys, there is a God that sees everything and remember that he is justice and I know for sure that he is going to do justice with these people. If they don't repend of what they are doing, for sure they are going to hell.

I live in Barbados and just got a call from Jennifer from RTI.  She said i won a free vacation worth $1899 but all i would have to pay is five ninety eight not five hundred and ninety eight dollars. When i asked what the catch was she said there was none, i asked how i had won she claimed that a friend or family member had submitted my name as someone who may be interested in their services which would have made me eligible to win the promotional vacation.  She couldn't tell me who had submitted my name, only that my name had been chosen out of 900 people.  We had a pleasant conversation, near the end of the conversation she asked about what credit i use to pay for my vacations and the expiry date, to which i responded i couldn't give her that info as i don't give that information online.  I entertained her only because I had a number of friends who recently travelled to Florida and at least one who purchased timeshare.  While i was speaking to her i tried to look up the name of the company but couldn't find anything about them, i asked her for the website and it really does look amateurish.

I asked her if I could call her back to try to verify with my friend if any of them had entered my name for anything, i was surprised that she was very cooperative and said 'sure' and gave me her number. I  called my friends and sure enough no one had entered my name for anything.  I called her back and asked her to email me some information for verification, again she happily obliged. If i hadn't come across this website i would have been likely to trust her because she asked me if i was familiar with the Consumer Protection Act, and went on to explain that I would be protected under that act. Our conversation would be recorded, and they were obligated to turn over all telephone conversations prior to billing charges to customers' credit cards, their lines are secured and my credit card information would not be used for anything other than that was mentioned and my satisfaction was guaranteed.

Below is the email that i was sent:

They contacted my mom in Barbados on the 13th October. She thought a scam immediately so she asked me to speak to the person. A "Mr. Andrew Davis" spoke to me and said he was a travel agent calling form Orlando with the news that my mon had won a free trip in Orlando after someone had submitted her name at the hotel where they were staying. First off i knew this to be untrue as none of our family/friends had travelled recently. I asked for his contact info and "Andrew" provided a toll free number. The number was too long (3 digits more) and i told him so, he got a bit annoyed and said it was the correct number. I asked for an alternate number and told him that my customer base at the company where i work are US based so the numbers he provided will be confirmed. "Andrew" said i could visit their website to confirm his info and of course the website provided is bogus as it lead me to this site. I will be contacting all of my friends and family in Barbados along with the local telephone company to notify them of this. Unfortunately my mom does not have caller ID but I do and all of my friends do so I will wait for them to contact one of us. Telephone number 407 472 7480 was also submitted.

    Thanks Felicia

Comment savoir?.

I received a call at 7:30 AM this (Oct 16, 2008) morning from someone identifying himself (when asked) as Karlos Rochester or RTI Travel, claiming that I had been recommended by another traveler for a trip to Orlando.  I do not remember all of the details, but it was supposedly worth about $3000 and the caller among fifty people selected from such recommendations.  After several minutes of spiel, the caller told me that the trip wasn't actually free but required $598.  During the conversation, it came out that I could call back to 407-472-7480 x215, which is the reason I am reporting it here.

Although I do know some people who took a cruise to the Caribbean recently, I immediately regarded this call as suspect, partly because I am already on the national Do Not Call registry.

If you are in any doubt about whether this is a legitimate offer, try this:  Ask them how you managed to win this vacation and they will tell you somthing like "a relative entered your name for you".  Ask them who the relative is.  As they made this up in the first place they obviously cannot tell you who your relative is so they will have to make up a story which will go somthing like; "We will tell you when you get here".

If they are telling you lies about how you happened to win this vacation; there is a good chance that they are telling you lies about other things. If it sounds too good to be true; then it probably is.

Andrew Davis from RTI also called my mother here in Barbados claiming that she had won a holiday for four persons, but she would only have to pay $578.00 USD. In a day of electronic tickets he needs to send paper tickets to Barbados from the US!!!! WOW!!!! REALLY!!!!.For some strange reason he requires credit card information. He also claimed that the winners were randomly selected however only persons with the last name starting in "C" were selected.

my mother received a call from Andrew Davis from R.T.I. offering a completely free vacation for two with $1000.00 voucher also.  Vacatio to be taken within the next 6 months.  She indicated that she would prefer that i talk to him he never called again.  I am now checking the net to see whether it was a scam. He did not however ask for money.
