I just did as you stated. I did not give my name, you dont need that to remove my phone number.... just my phone number. This is their reply:

I found out that when I signed up with Job.com that they got my phone number off of that.  When I signed up I made it clear that I did not want phone calls from other parties.  Apparently they didn't listen.  They informed me it can take up to 48 hours to remove me from their list.  Ahh the wonderful age of computers.  Amazing how long it takes to remove me from the list.  My phone number got on pretty quick though

I think these people are retrieve the phone data from careerbuilder.com.  Just as soon as i changed my phone number on the profile info, I started receiving calls on my new unlisted number.  Before I had an internet ph# and they kept calling.  Maybe careerbuilder is selling the information

I actually applied for a job online and this service in a very devious round about way tried to talk me into speaking with a career/school advisor who supposedly would help me for no charge and blah..blah blah.  They said I would be considered for the job I applied for and this extra service would just be an added bonus.  Bull%$#@!! Another scandalous company taking advantage of people who are vulnerable...too bad I'm smarter then the deviants who tried to suck me in.  Don't answer or call them back.  THIS PHONE NUMBER IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!

I just got a call from these ppl too. They are giving information on an online college to attend. To me, they are scammers too. I'm looking for financial assistance for college, and I get return calls from a 3rd party wanting to list you on a college that charges over $20,000.00 a year, and may offer you $500.00 in financial assitance. Whenever you see an application that asks for your phine number, close it out, because they are ever so eager to help you find a school (one of theirs) without any financial assistance, and they do call fast.

They keep calling, no vm and won't stop calling

This number calls 3 or 4 times daily.  Sometimes I answer and say you have reached a number registered on the do not call list - before I can finish they are off the line but STILL keep calling.

Just tell them to stop calling you and have them take off your number off their list. I did this and never heard from them again.

Career Advisers strikes again. I have been looking for jobs online and now i have been getting calls every couple of hours. I think I will take the advise of the lady from a few posts back and just sighn them up for junk mail and a few dirty diapers wouldnt hurt either.

How do you block calls on a Cricket phone? I am already on the DNC (don not call) register...its annoying! and I have entered my number numerous times so i know  its up to date.

Called my cell phone and hanged up. Did not leave or say anything. Lets catch these people.

1-886-533-8166 is the ph# for a scavenger debt collection agency. they buy old debt for pennys on the dollar and try to harrass you into to paying. they often mascarade as lawyers offices to intimidate you. Check the Statute of Limitations for debt collection and tell them to go way. As far as having your phone # on a don't call list, they don't care because they don't follow the laws. Quite often, they already know the debt is to old to collect on but they're hoping you don't know it They'd pull their Grandma out of the grave to collect from her. That't why they're called scavengers.. AND NEVER, EVER ADMIT TO THEM THAT YOU OWE THEM ANYTHING!!!

This company is called Career Advisors/They solicate to help you find a school.  They find your phone number on your resume if you have it listed anywhere on-line such as Career Builder ect....  

If you are registered with the DO NOT CALL Goverment list then they can get in trouble for calling you.  If they call you and your registered call Do Not Call again to file a complaint.  Do Not Calls # is 888-382-1222.  Good luck

I had filled out some imformation on Job.com.
On the application it specifically asks if you want information on educational courses.
I SAID NO.
Now I am getting calls from these people AT WORK about their education programs.
job.com is a scam, they sell your information and trick you.
This is not a debt collector, it is sales people for advancing your career through continuing education or some garbage like that.

They call me repeatedly, at random times of the day. I work, have a one month old son, and rest is imperative. This person can buzz off and QUIT EFFING CALLING ME. >.< Sleep is scarce enough as it is, and this [***] is making it harder.
