I just received a call from this number.  They claim to be First Advantage needing an employment verification.  I told them that we use the work number and if they don't receive all the info they need that they can fax their request to our HR privacy fax number.  He takes that down and then proceeds to ask me what my name and title is.  I ask him why in the heck he needs that and he proceeds to hang up.  ERRR

Definitely a scam. They had an employee's name and wanted to verify employment. I asked who they were and was told they were a 3rd party verification company for DOT and our employee had applied for a loan. Like, really, what the heck does the DOT have to do with loans???
I called them back 4 times just to mess with them and they finally blocked my calls. All very heavily accented people.

They called me and asked for human resources. I asked where they got this number from, as it is my personal extension, not headquarters. He tried to verify the company. I told him to call headquarters and told him the number is on our website. He hung up mid-sentence. Definitely a scam.

Just got a call from this number too while at work, asking to confirm a former employee and title. I told them I didn't have access to that information as the name they provided to me was not familiar to me. I told them to reach out to my manager. Gave them a false email as i knew it was a scam.

I got a call from this number with my company name as reference and asking for employee details. They asked me if I can give any HR name or any manager name , I told I will not have any details and we do not directly communicate .

Received several calls regarding employee verification.  They claim to be First Advantage  I told them to email me the verification.  Upon receipt of the verification, the signature was not my employee's signature.  I explained this when they called again.  Then they asked me if I'd confirm this over the phone.  DUH!  NO.  I don't trust you.  Never going to happen.  I told them to let their customer know.  They said they could not directly communicate with them.  Interesting to me, their on hold message states to stay online for the next "awailable" agent.  They also wanted to "werifiy employment".

I recieved over 20 calls from this number in the last 24 hours and each time they left a heavily accented voice-mail with someone's name I know. I couldn't make out the rest of what they were saying but I figured there was no way this could be a professional reaching out to me if they called me 20 times within 24 hours and had someone with such a thick accent, that I couldn't understand them, making these calls. Best piece of advice - block the mother effers!

They called claiming to be from FED EX looking for employment verification. I told them we did not do that here, and they needed to call the corporate office. The person on the other end of the line, who like the other  responders mentioned spoke in a heavy accent, and English was clearly not their first language.

I hung up on them, and they called back right away. I hung up on them without saying a word the 2nd time, they did not attempt to call back for the next several hours after that. Will be on the look out.

Received multiple calls throughout the past couple of weeks and the caller spoke with a heavy accent-the caller claims to be with First Advantage and claims to be calling for Deloilte (a well known company) this is clearly a fraud caller.

This person called asking for employment verification. I told her that is not within my job title. She continued to ask what my name is and other things that I realized at that moment this is nothing but a SCAM phone call.

Had the same experience. Went on the first advantage website. Couldn't find the number that matched. Googled the call back number he gave and found this thread. I was already on the phone calling back. Everything is sketchy.

At first everything looked normal but after I followed up with them via email about an error I was receiving. I kept receiving phone calls both men who called had strong accents and would only give me their first name and last initial. They would not tell me their managers name instead gave me a phone number to call (see below). I then called a trusted number and was transferred internally to the verification department where I learned that the email was wrong, the case number was not structured correctly and company policy states they can give their full name and job title. She told me it was a scam and to be careful not to give information.

So First Advantage is in the same awful group as Higher Right. These background employment sites are terrible as their employees don't communicate with each other and quality control of their employees is so awful that no one can understand them (they always, always have thick accents) and they just suck. Our phone service has labeled them as either spam or unknown on their own accord. Another time, they were caught phishing using our own company phone number. When this was addressed they responded that their number was a common number........yup. This has been going on for awhile and they are definitely not recommended for background checks.

Called in once to our office from a local number matching ours. Mistook us for another party with the same name essentially. Kept trying to pry for more info. Called back from 866-569-5415 and tried the same thing again. In my eyes, definitely a scam.
