- JayK| 1 replyThe number 866-576-4377 was associated with a $50.00 Visa charge on our statement for Kroger Boost Membership that we did not request. Calling the number results in a very, very, very AI-generated voice response selling a medical device. A third call to this number does NOT connect to the clever AI, but a message saying the call can not be connected in your area (an untrue statement).

- Harry FerranBank statement showed a charge for a Smiths ( Kroger ) charge in Salt Lake City, Utah using my bank checking account debit card. This number 866-576-4377 was shown as contact number for charge.
Called and a medical company answered. When I stated the purpose of the call they hung up.
I did not call back, disputed the charge with my bank and the funds were returned.- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Mary| 1 replyI got an unusual charge on my bank account that said it was a reoccuring charge for 26.00 dollars for frys on my bank statement this is the number it listed to call and I got the same recording about a medical device with them insisting i get this medical device. I told them i wasn't interested in it and he said he'll transfer me over once we do this medical device thing. He was very persistent. I told him over and over again i didn't want it and he refused to transfer me and i realized what they did fry's real customer service number is 1-800-576-4377 the only difference between fry's real number and this one is frys is a 1-800 number and this one is a 1-866 number. They did this hoping we wouldn't catch this error. I disputed the transaction and am getting a new card.
- Caller: dont know the name of the company on the transaction it says fry's but its not.

- Jillian replies to JayKSame thing happened to me today. $138.56 charge.
- Mark replies to MarySame thing happened to me - the charge was through SMITH S in Utah for $325.24! I called my bank to dispute and cancel the charge and get a new card. Called the number and got the same runaround as described in the OP. :-(
- ConnorWoke up to multiple fraudulent charges. My card was still in my wallet. One of them was a $156.94 charge titled PURCHASE AUTHORIZED ON 9/25 SMITHS #5338 866-576-4377 NV with a bunch of numbers after and the last 4 digits of my card. That Smith's is fairly close to my house but not the one that I go to. It also said the method that it was input was Card # Entered by Customer/Merchant. Smith's doesn't allow that either so it's obviously fake. I called the number and got the same medical request voicemail that doesn't even listen to you. You can just sit there and it will talk like you are responding. I reported it to my bank with the other ones and hopefully I get my money back.

- Sherry$301 charge on my statement, appears as Fry’s in AZ. I live about 1500 miles from AZ. Transaction done on a day I didn’t use my debit card at all. But phone number is 866-576-4377 which goes to a medical device company which I have not talked to AT ALL. Have filed a fraud claim.
- Caller: Transaction

- AngelaAn AI voice called me and said if you are not Angela, you need to hang up and not listen to the rest of the message. When I listen to the rest of the message, it said it was a debt collector and if I don’t call, action will be taken against me. I don’t owe anybody anything that is not paid up to date
- Caller: Did not leave a name
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigAThe fake process server/location specialist scam usually contains:
They mention that they have received a Fax document or that some sort of complaint has “come across my desk” and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency. They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). They threaten to serve you at home or at work. They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work. They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID. None of which is true. Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else. They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”. Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time. Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I then reviewed my credit card statement and found a King Soopers charge for $396.77 with this listed as the merchant "KING SOOPERS 5121 866-576-4377 CO" My Wife and I are empty nesters, so a $400 grocery bill would be highly unusual. I called the number and it was a phone tree offering me some kind of discount if I was over 50....having already looked at this site I just hung up. The sad thing is had it not been for the size of the charge, I might have ignored it.
