Jean at ext.15926 from Chase called me to inform me that a customer from Illinois, Chicago doesn’t authorize a charge from us. When she called me she knew my name already. They call first to get information from the front desk and then later they call me directly and got me surprised. They are very snaky. They want to back charge us. We have never dealt with US customers and we don’t have any records in the system. I think this is a fraud.  Please advise me what to do?.

My advice is to use the number on the back of your credit card, which will take you on a trusted line directly through to Chase itself, just on the odd chance that there is something fishy going on.

I called the number on the back of the card, and they referred me to this 1800 number with the correct extension, saying that this was the fraud official who had been assigned my case. It seems legit.

Message in my voice mail  from 866-582-7130 about transactions . I did not respond and I contacted the phone number on the back of the card regarding this call. Chase fraud dept. does not recognize 866-582-7130 . This is a SCAM .

Uh, no. Talking about 866-582-7130 here. This has been flagged as a phishing expedition for years, based on the postings online. Why haven't they shut you down yet?

Got 2 voice mails from them, asking to call back. I call the number on the back of my card instead, and verified that 866-582-7130 thing is a fraud indeed.
To shut them down, we probably need to report this to the official authorities. The reverse lookup tells that the number 224-222-5000 which appears on the caller ID is a landline in Illinois. Should be easy to figure out who provide the phone service to them and where it is physically located, though it is possible that actual "employees" work from their homes.
I have seen a lot of advertisement of the jobs that you can do from home, and you only need a computer, internet and phone. Now I know who is hiring ...

I called the Chase 1-800 number per their website, and they confirmed this is a LEGITIMATE number for their fraud analyst division.  Please don't take my word for it... go to the Chase website and check it out for yourself.  Now, I don't know if the calls that show up as 224-222-5000 are spoofing the Chase number... that is a different issue.

You're a LIAR.  We WON'T take your word for it because the "fraud analyst division" does NOT exist.

Just got a call from this number, they left a message claiming to be from the Chase Fraud Department and were looking into claims on my account. They left a 1-866 number and a direct extension for me to call back and said I needed to call immediately. Funny thing is, they called about an account that has been closed/cancelled for over 2 months. I called the number on the back of my card instead (per previous comments above) and spoke directly to Chase and they said it was definitely NOT them.

    THIS IS A SCAM!!!

They knew a lot of stuff... account had been closed for months, but they knew why we closed it, the name of the companies, and wanted to know mother's maiden name, and last 4 digits of social.  He claimed he was an "investigator"  They wanted us to confirm that we had purchased, and we did.   Chase says it's a different department w/ a different name, but it was logged in the computer that indeed he HAD called , and it was legit.

800notes is an anonymous forum and there was no one at 800notes door to check that this poster's claims are factually true before 800notes let this poster post. Since there is no way to verify that this poster speaks the truth, this poster's claims are nothing but ALLEGATIONS. This poster's ALLEGATION that "They knew a lot of stuff ... it's a different department w/ a different name ... it was legit" does not prove this is a legit number. All we have is this poster's ALLEGATION that this number is legit (and it is NOT); would you believe my ALLEGATION that Santa Claus gave me a million dollars for Christmas? The only people who can benefit from this poster's ALLEGATIONS are SCAMMERS who will steal your account and personal info followed shortly by your money and ID.

    I hate frauds
THIS site is AWESOME, it's been so helpful for me!

Between the FRAUDULENT company called CHECKMATE and now this fraudulent number from CHASE, the world is more scary than ever before...

Thanks for all your posts here, they just solidified what I suspected...BULLSH*T fraud callers..

The number 224-222-5000 is not listed ANYWHERE as a real working number. Then the message was to call someone named Jennifer (her last name was undecipherable) at 'CHASEGUARD SERVICES-PHONE OPERATIONS 1-866-582-7130 ext 15454 in regards to my credit card ending in XXXX". It's scary because she did have the last 4 digits of my credit card, HOWEVER, I just reported CHECKMATE as FRAUDULENT to the bank just last week and now this person calls me in regards to exactly what I did in real life! I called the number on the back of the credit card, because you cannot trust anyone anywhere any more. They put me in touch with their FRAUD department and the rest is in their hands. I am NOT CALLING these people back since it's obviously a fraud...

BE CAREFUL....people are disgustingly evil when it comes to scams...
