This person keeps calling me and claims to have a lawsuit against me????

It's a scam as usual. You owe a pay day loan. it all BS as usual.

They called me too- Amanda from the law offices of Jeffrey Abate... Said there is legal documentation directly linked to my name and social security number and that they needed me to send in a deposition of intent or have my legal representative do it for me... [***]! Don't do it avoid these scams!

They called me and said i owed $7,000 for a loan of  $900.00 and they would take my liscense and car.

I just received a call as well. However, before I called back I decided to look up this law firm because I have had other calls like this in the past and sure enough I find out they too are a scam. Like everyone else yes I owe a debt but I am not paying them. I will send my money directly to company I owe the debt to.

Sam BS  called for my son supposedly owing a gov bill.  I know its bs because if it is a law office they cant disclose info

I've been receiving calls from the Law office of Jeffrey J Abate for several months. The nice lady who placed the call this time called herself Kristene Rogers (I asked her to spell it). She claims she is from Douglas County Colorado. I looked up the Law office and they don't exist in Colorado. Jeffrey J Abate has an office in New York. Poor guy should file a suite against these people for using his name fraudulently. Sounds really official and legit with a case number and a pressing voice urging you to call back and discuss the lawsuit against you but it's not. If you receive more than one call from these frauds don't be alarmed because they can't harm you. It's a scam.

Weird Sharon, she told me she was from New York and that they were pursuing against me in my county (clark county). You probably misheard her. I was skeptical too but I looked up the correct name and found that the information was accurate. Cant believe everything you read on the internet. Whether a law office or not, they still helped resolve my outstanding debt on a payment plan I could afford. The real scammers are the ones who look for every excuse to not pay back a loan that they know they owe.

Where is the validation of these debts?  If a debt collector claims someone owes a debt, the collector needs to validate the debt per the FDCPA.  Why should anyone pay money to someone over the phone who simply says money is owed?
