Received call says Amazon about a charge on my card came up on display with a local number listed for a drywall company in Minneapolis area. Called 866-598-2421, was number for Amazon customer service/fraud given, was picked up and heard people talking (like on speaker in room) no one came to phone, seem suspicious  so hung up. Did call number on display came up not in service.

Received call from this number today saying I had charged almost $1,000 on my account.  I did not call back, but did contact Amazon who is sending me info on contacting Federal Trade Commission to report this number.

Call from "Amazon" that said charge of $999 was made and to call 866-598-2421 to dispute it. There was no number on the caller ID. Of course, I made no such charge.

Message left from a local number (317)946-3757, saying my default card made a purchase of $979.99, asked to call number 866-598-2421 to verify the purchase. When called 866-598-2421, heard the same thing like TN did in 17 July 2021.317

Recevied a local call regarding an Amazon purchase made on my default credit card in the amount of $979.99.  I checked my online account with Amazon, and no such purchase was made or pending.

Received call and caller ID said was Local hospital. Was also told by computer message that $979.99 charged to card. Scam

Amozon scam, same as the other descriptions. they even used the same amount ($979.99) they claim was charged

Getting this several times a day.  Caller is a number very similar to mine which which makes it an obvious scam.  The Indian Indian scammers don't seem to understand the portability of phone numbers in the U.S. They want you to call 866-598-2421 to dispute a charge.  It's all BS.

I, too have received these calls stating from Amazon regarding charges. I did not call the 866#, as it sounded like a scam immediately to me.  Call came from cell phone in Sarasota and I did not answer, but they left message on my voice mail with the 866#.

Local cell number called, my phone said "possible scam" so I let it go to voicemail. Message was a robocall from "Amazon customer service", telling me that a purchase had been made on my card for more than $900, and I should call Amazon Customer Service at 866-598-2421 if I did not make the purchase. I did not call.

Notice how this caller never states which Amazon "account" was used to place the order - that is, the email address used.
Amazon does not even have "accounts" linked to a unique person. Your orders are by email address. I have three emails I use to order.
Amazon's "fraud department" doesn't even monitor orders for possible fraud. The only frauds they deal with are those that are reported to them by customers.
So, right off you know this caller is bogus because Amazon doesn't call people asking them to cancel their order, and they don't state an email address of the order.

Like others who have reported, today i received a call stating someone had made a purchase on my Amazon Acct in the amount of $979.99.  The message on my answering machine said to ig ore the call if i had made the purchase and to call the number above if i had not made the purchase. It was a computer generated voice. I did not return the call.

Today received a voicemail ---  Amazon fraud reporting $979.99 charge. Should call toll free 866-598-2421. Of course it sounds suspicious. I quickly looked at my Amazon account ---  no such purchase pending. It really is a shame people spend all they're energy trying to scam someone.

Like many others i received a call from a local number ( 864-225-8376)  to inform me that a purchase of  $979.99 was going to be charge to my credit card attached to my Amazon account, to call 1-866-598-2421 if i did not make a purchase or to ignore the call to receive my order.  SPAM!

Received a call from this number stating a charge of $979.00 was made on my default Amazon account same day as this call came in. Also saying if I made the purchase just hang up and it will be shipped immediately, but if I did not make the purchase call this number to dispute it. Fortunately I have no account with Amazon, did not make a purchase that day and did not call this number back--fraud attempt!

Received several calls from wireless numbers similar to mine and one even had a name.  All were same recorded message to get me to call Amazon Fraud Dept. 866-598-2421 which in reality is a "Boiler Room" of Scammers waiting on your call!
