I get this all the time, several times a week. I don't recognize the name they're asking for. Once I pressed one to say i was this person, and when someone came on the line I blasted them and asked them to remove me. Still getting the call so I called capital one and complained to them. They were mostly unhelpful but put my number on their 'do not call' list, so if I still get these  calls from now on it won't be from them, which I don't think it was in the first place. Why don't the cops track these people down and charge them for fraud and misrepresentation?

OK - I called the number back and it was capital one! the guy was very cooperative and was able to track down the incorrect name associated with my number. Should stop now, he says.

I returned there call. It is Capital One.  They were able to provide me with all my account info.  (last payment made etc.)  This number is not spam.  They were calling to say my bill was due tomorrow.

Got a call from this number. Didn't identify themselves in the caller ID, just said Long Distance. Didn't leave a message.
If they are afraid of identifying the company they are calling from than I have no time to talk to them.

Received a call today from this number. It said "Unknown name" in my caller ID and a phone number of 1-866-603-4330. Caller did not leave a message on my answering machine.

Must be the US outlet of Capital One. Unscrupulous reputation they have there I think not so in Canada. I know they've called here numerous times. I have ICM and can screen the calls when on my computer. Otherwise I don't answer if I don't recognize the number. Bloody hell you get on this no call list and then you are bombarded with telemarketer calls! Not much wonder people are fed up and are rude to them.

I get this number on my cell phone every day or two. There is no name on the call display and they never leave a message.
I am not answering my cell phone, and paying for a call from someone who will not reveal who they are.
If it is Capital One, or any other reputable company, why not reveal that? Maybe more people will answer the calls. I just find this bad business ethics.

I do not have Capital One bank ... it's really annoying. Did anyone figure out how to stop / block that number?? Do I need to call my phone company??

They NEVER call me to say that my bill is due.  Why would they do that?  Do you realize how many calls they would have to make if that was the reason for calling?  

My account is in good standing and I received a phone call....but not to say that my bill is due.

this number is capital one...... the only reason they are calling is because a bill is overdue. the number that is associated with that account is who they call. it is quite annoying but if you answer and talk to them it will most likely stop if you make suitable arrangements for payment. i went through this already and they wont stop until they get a payment

caller keeps calling, leaves no messages and hangs up when I answer. I have no dealings with capitol one and definately will not in the future if this is their way of doing buisness.

So yeah - it is Capitol one. your card is at limit.

so ....

a) pay your bill or make arrangements
b) they have the wrong phone number or someone who had your phone number previously did not pay their bill. call them - let them know.... it will take 5 minutes.
c)If you have no dealings now or but you did have previous dealings with them and failed to pay your charges or there was something out there that they needed to talk to you about.. here is a novel idea.

Answer the phone - talk to them. Don't give any personal info and you will be a okay. sorry that you had to take 5 mintues out of your ever so busy day to talk to someone

get over yerself.

you obvisouly dont have kids screaming all day long and a busy life that u have time to talk to everyone that calls. must be nice. Expecially when telemarketers call continously.

Yes, it is Capital One and it is not a scam. The reason they don't leave a message or show up on caller ID is because it's computer generated call. It IS annoying but I can assure you that if you call them back and make payment arrangements (and adhere to them) the calls will stop. If you don't have a Capital One card and they have the wrong number, just call them back and tell them so.

7am they called me today and I don't have a Capital One Card! (and neither does my husband - and we never have)

Seven freaking o'clock in the morning.

I've been getting phone calls from this number for months now, asking for someone who I've never even heard of.  So I pressed #1 or #2 just to get to a person, then confirmed that they got the wrong number.  I've done it twice so far, it did not stop the most annoying phone calls.  I still get them right at 8 in the morning.

I wish I can do something to stop, but all I can do at this point is to ignore the phone calls.  One thing for sure, no business dealings with Capital One in my lifetime.

I've just looked into call screening function with my telephone service provider, apparently I have to fork out 2 dollars per month to add a feature to stop this annoying phone calls.  

Is there any way I can make Capital One pay for this feature?

These idiots are calling before 8:00 am in the morning even!!!  Dont get this credit card as they are a royal pain in the a$$ to deal with.  I fell behind by a couple of payments due to employment and I kid you not they were calling me between 5-7 times a day and one day was 3 times within 1 hour to ask the same stupid questions
