- Victoria replies to AnnSame Story (05/23/08 5:50PM PST): I got a call from this number 866-603-4796 - an automated male voice saying they saw my resume online and had a match please go to www. new job path . com and if interested, fill in the application. I went to the site, it looks pretty complete, except it seems to carry a bunch of "scripts" vs. HTML so you can't really see where the info is going. An initial search of this number prompted nothing but weirdness including this site. I called the number back and got the same voice at "Administrative Careers", repeating the same info and saying if my call was not about the job, I could call the cell (a number of course I do not have). I looked up the info on www.consumerfraudreporting.org and found nothing. But while that site is often very savvy in reporting multiple scams (including those stemming from info YOU yourself put out there looking for a job), i bet it won't be long this info comes up on the site.

- Kim Greene replies to AnnJust received a call on my cell phone from this same 866 number and googled it. I live in Florida. Thank goodness your notes came up! Thanks for taking the time to tell your story. Thanks!
- JoelJust got a phone call from the same number. Thanks to everyone above, I know who called. I didn't answer, and the voice mail was a bunch of weird electronic noises.
- CaraJust got a call but they hung up just as I answered. Googled and instantly got this site. Recently I applied to a job through NYTimes that directed me to a website saying I had to fill out basic mailing info for resume to be submitted--now I get spam from 'job' & 'career' placement companies...?
- LindseyMissed the call and googled it-so here I am. It's Mermorial Day, I shouldn't be receiving telemarketing calls!
- SaraI just the call too! Luckily I didn't answer and looked it up here.
I hate telemarketers. - FrankJust got the call too....didn't answer...google and here I am....

- SandraWell - It's nice to know that I am not alone. Looking for employment can be bad enough without being bothered by telemarketers!

- SW33TN1CKUnbelievable! The job sites like CareerBuilder and Monster should get off their butts about issues similar to this. We put our resume on their sites for legitimate employers to review, and for them to contact us with legitimate job offers. We do not put our resumes to have our personal information sold to or borrowed by ILLEGITIMATE scam artists, trying to get another stone added on to their pyramid of life!
The thing that drives me so crazy about these "job offers" is why, if they are so great, do they not start things on the right foot, and honestly state why they are calling? Some guy called me once for a "PR Assistant" position. I went to the interview, and it was a group interview for Primerica, to become an insurance salesperson! What the?
Just be careful, people. There are some deranged lunatics out there with too much time on their hands! - martiangirlI've gotten a few calls from this number which I've never answered. It shows up on caller ID as "Toll Free", which I ALWAYS ignore. I posted a resume on CareerBuilder more than a month ago. I got a job almost immediately (on my own, not through them) and I've been bombarded with spam and unwanted calls since. I've removed my resume from CareerBuilder, but continue to get these unwanted solicitations. Most of them are from Primerica, just as SW33TN1CK above said, to see insurance. Some of them are looking for investors of some kind (like we can make so much money investing that we wouldn't NEED to get a job). I wouldn't use CareerBuilder or similar again unless they fix this situation.
- StewartI also received a call from this number. My resume is posted on Careerbuilder. I didn't answer and they left no message. This may be similar to many emails I get (usually filtered into the junk folder) telling there is "match" to my resume, and I need to go to their website and provide add'l info. You may find a vague job description and the info you provide is sold to various marketers such as "start up" job bulletin boards as well as "Your warranty is expiring" type of scams. Reputable firms such as CareerBuilder and Hotjobs with Yahoo don't sell your info, but it is available to anyone with an internet connection. Be cautious with what contact info is provided on your resume as well as any additional info you provide. You're being car-jacked on the information super highway!
- ramblingrvmomI just received a call from this number. My resume is posted on Careerbuilder. I answered the phone and got the male voice recorded message. I thought the whole message was strange. So, I googled and found this. Unbeliveable!

- Mark in Los AngelesJust got the infamous call right now from the same number 866-603-4796, I answered and the call(er) hung up. Did the Google search and found this info; yes, I have posted my info in careerbuilder and a few other sites, I do remember repeatedly solicited from for education sites, etc. Look, we just want a damn decent job, there is no money for you telemarketers or others, thank you!
