who is this that keeps calling a person I haven't dealt with in years.  They are harassing them.  I can't figure out who this is either.

received a message for my son (not of this fixed address) and thought it was a collection agency.  No name given but referred to an account number 290667.  anyone know who this is?

It seems the phone number is that of "Action Collections", located in Gatineau Quebec.  

In my case, I think it is gov't issued student loans.  I think this agency does a lot of work for the gov't.

They specialize in collecting old debts, do not admit to anything, if you admit you owe the bill again. Be polite!

This company keeps calling here looking for some person i have never heard of.  this is at lleast the seventh time they have called.  Who are they?

This 'Action Agency' Keeps calling and harassing me for a debit I already paid to Money Mart and won't listen to me or call and confirm with their client. Are they even legit?

my caller id picked up the phone number from onatrio and it showed it as 416-503-7625 but the voicemail that is left leaves an account number as well as a toll free number of 1-866-613-6816 and the name is actions collection and receivables management.Are they legit to begin with? And how did they get my home phone number which is unlisted to begin with? And what can be done if they harrass you? they say i owe money that i know nothing of?

I got a new cell phone for the first time for Christmas, and this company keeps calling me for a Jennifer M. Does anyone know what i can do to make them stop calling me?

I work for a government office & we get calls to our main switchboard with the same type of message.  Not sure what it is all about we were told it was for account #181625

They keep calling me in last 2 months from same number picked up on the phone 416-503-7625 and asking me to call 866-613-6816. As they are saying same thing to me as everybody else here : "Action Collections" regarding account number ####. I would be very happy to know how to stop them calling me nd harrasing me and at the same time know if they are legit or not and what the  .uck they want ???

Being persistant and after long search , I have found who they are, and please file your complaint to BBB for their harrasment over the phone. It is ridicilous, they have been calling me/harrasing me for a few dollar that have been cleared about 10 years ago with the file they have received recently.!!!???

This is a scam and they are phishing for personal information.  Call the police and report it!! Don't give them any information at all.  They called me and said I owed money.  It is not me as I don't owe anyone anything!!

This harassment on daily basis is not acceptible!

They called my cell phone today, left a message including a name and account number for a "Jeffrey Aven" or "John Irveno?"  Makes me wonder, does this violate the debtor's personal privacy?  Assuming he exists, I mean.  I phoned back via Skype and they told me it was an old recycled number they were calling.  I have had that number since 2008.

Has something happened this past month to stir up the robocallers?  I have been getting a few a week this month, when previously I would get only 2 or 3 a year.  Grrr.

And, having assured me my number was removed from his account, they have called me again today with the same name and account number.  Plus, their callback number is busy.  Grrr.  I phoned them on their 416 number and they assured me the number had been removed last week.  Let's see what happens.

More to add to the above.  I contacted Canada's Privacy Commission and asked them about this robo-call.  They told me two things:

-- this is definitely a violation of the privacy law.
-- but to formally complain about this, after the second or later incident, I am required to write a letter to the company's Director of Privacy formally complaining, and send a cc to the Privacy Commission.

I will let you know if they call me again.

This same number has been calling me lately. I called it back only to find out it was about a credit card from Zellers that I had back in 2003. 9 years ago???? I had totally forgot about it. Back then I had a $500 dollar limit and they are saying I owe $1956.56 now. Since that time I have purchased a new card and have other credit cards and nothing was flagged on my credit. Is it possible for them to come collecting after 9 years? What should I do?
