    Aloha From Hawaii
    aloha emily,
i didn't get a call from this number, but i did receive a "post-card" type note in the mail.
it "looks" to have come from Annuity and Retirement Services, by Greg Yamamoto. the
card reads: *this communication is to inform you that you have an annuity that has
reached the end of its surrender period*. i do not.
    googled A.and R.S. and G.Yamamoto...both are bogus.
    be well

My mom received this very same mailer & I am very familar with most of the ins. mailers. So I called the # on the postcard for my mom & I did get to speak to an agent or telemarketer I guess. They went over why my mom received the mailer & that they are the call center for Greg Yamamoto, who they said was a local Hawaii agent. He would come & go over the benefits & make sure that my mom knows what she is entitled to regarding her annuity & any other accounts regarding her retirement funds. Well, I asked if I could sit in the meeting & they had no problems with it! So, we had the meeting with Greg & he was very nice, & the first thing he said to me was that he didn't want to see any of my mom's financials till he explained why he's here & what we will gain from his appt.. After his explanation, I decided to have him help my mom with her retirement funds! Not only did he secure all my mom's retirement, but he also was able to create a Lifetime Income for her too! My mom did not have much but he was still able to create a steady stream of income for her! I even got some great information about my retirement too! I am so glad that we were able to meet with him!  Oh, I did wait a few mins. before I was able to speak to someone too & very happy I waited!

    We Wont Get Fooled Again
Got the same Bogus Annuity postcard.with no ID or return address, just this phone number.

Gee, no ID info, just a phone number, and I "May have an annuity that has reached the end of its surrender period?"

I guess their use of the word "may" keeps them out of jail with this approach.

So your saying that he is a broker looking for clients so he can invest "Your Money" Why would you even risk inviting a stranger in to your mom's home and her savings. If you wanted to invest her money you should have called someone local like a bank or better yet and investment firm you could trust like Primerica Financial Services. You would have a better chance of tracking them if something happened to your moms money. I wouldn't want a daughter like you if that's the way you handled this situation. I still don't think your mom got the best out of this crooks deal.

Same thing here.  Got a bogus "postcard" in mail.  I called the number.  When I asked too many questions, and refused to give them any information at all, they cut me off without saying good bye.  Tried a couple more times, the last time, the phone didn't even ring.  I guess they put my phone number on "do not answer".  LOL

I'm taking the card to the Post Office and complain about the scam and possible federal charges for using the Post Office to perpetrate it.

Nothing is free.  If it sounds too good, that's because it is too good.  (Aren't these things we learned when we were in grammar school?)  As someone else said, if you've got money to invest, do it through someone who is local, or who is at least reputable.  THAT is sound advice.

Don't know if we got a phone call as we have an answering machine to do our screening, but did get a post card which is why I looked up the phone number on the Google search engine and found out that we are thinking rationally by choosing not to be on the "rip-list".

    Scam
Just got their postcard in the mail today and googled the phone number.  Maybe if we keep posting on this phone number, they'll change it!!!

The last sentence is what protects them from the fraud statutes:

"This notice should be disregarded if you do not currently have an in-force annuity contract."

    Just a phishing card.
