- Collector replies to Mystery Woman| 5 repliesI have worked in collection agencies throughout high school & college, now i am in my final year at medical school, what these debtors don't understand is that we are normal people, who find people like you (debtors) absolutely pathetic. You are the scam, taking out loans and credit cards you know damn well you won't pay off. So maybe instead of blogging about people that most likely make more money than you, and are most likely just out of high school you should pay your bills.
- hahahaha pathetic| 2 repliesI work for Giove Law Office. We are not scams at all. It is illegal to disclose any information on an answering machine. And we have to ask for you SSN before giving information out. Trust me we know everything about you. Every house you ever lived in, criminal records, every car you ever had. every judgement& lein, we no if you are alive or dead. We know your SSN, family members, every where you worked, how much you make. if you ever filed bankrupt. EVERYTHING. You guys are pathetic and cant pay your bills because you had a "hardship" during paying the loan. ha We do settlements to HELP you and take the fees the debt has tacked on along the way. This will bite you in the ass later in life.
- leo0289 replies to Collector| 1 replyIt is remarks and unethical tactics like your posting content that give the collection agencies a bad rap. NOT EVERYONE IS TRYING TO ESCAPE THEIR DEBTS! You sit on your high horse and presume everyone who may have run in to a bit of bad luck is a deadbeat. You speak of your coworkers as being highschool graduates and making more money then the people you harass. It must be nice to still live at home with your parent allowing them to cover your bills while you place judgement on another person. Normal people as you quoted do not call others and make treats against their employment, family or friends privacy. I understand the need to remind certian people that they still have an active debt that is all well but 98% of your profession you are protecting use tactics that go above and beyond collection attempts. You business HIDES behind the technology of the telephone because you are cowards. If you had to go door to door to make these collection contacts your outlook would be a bit different. So "Collector" take a step down off your pedistool and back in to reality. TRY BEING NICE FOR A CHANGE IT MAY ACTUALLY BENEFIT YOU ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAN A CAREER IN THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY!
- You are a fraud replies to Collector| 1 replyYou have not worked your way through any med school, one thing you are good at is lying as most collectors are. How are you to judge anyone. Many people don't take out loans because they are frauds how dare you. I bet you live in a one room shack

- sorry replies to Sara| 2 repliesare you gonna stop them there calling you for a reason,im a bill collecter for a law firm and they dont need to send you anything,at my office we have to make contact with you first then we can send out a letter.you only think there a scam cus you dont wanna pay your bills like all the rest of these people on here, change your nuber block it but they have your ss# and credit report probaly so they will find you
- Scubus replies to sorry| 1 replyYes, they do need to send you a notice, and they must be able to prove they sent it to you in court. You must be given 30 days to dispute the charge, and a phone call does not begin the 30 day clock. They do not have to prove that you received the notice, just that it was sent and delivered to your last known address. A bill collector is also required to provide proof of the claim, in writing. If they choose to go to court, they must be able to prove that you were served with a summons, and they must be able to prove that summons was served on YOU.
While I believe that people should pay their bills, stuff happens. Having people default is part of doing business, that is why there are rules in place for default, additional charges etc. and why you pay more if your credit is poor. Perhaps if lenders were a bit more responsible in who they offered credit to and how they made cash available, they would have fewer defaults.
See - it is a business. There are rules in place and all parties should adhere to the rules and conduct themselves ethically. Many debt collectors choose to be unethical. So are many debtors. - Leo0894 replies to leo0289Strange as it is, this guy with a seemingly same internet username as mine, has a point. I'm a high school student and my parents receive at least twenty 800 calls a day, and I'm tired of it. Stop harassing people because we know who we owe money to. My parents keep track and we don't need worthless scum calling us saying we owe money to this company or firm we know nothing about. Why not answer when we try to call back and make a decent conversation.
