Bird, it would be better if would write in English, but I catch the brotherly love inferred. You're just trying to help us :)

All kidding aside, I know for a fact that I don't owe anyone anything. I have great credit. So, it's obvious that these calls are just scams. I get calls all the time for various made up names.

My main point is that we'd all be better off if we didn't even answer the phone. If enough of us would do that, then this type of scam would lose it's popularity. Sad, but true. I only answer the phone when it's from someone I already know on caller ID. For all other calls, I just let voice mail take the message.

They called today (5/20/2010) saying they've attempted to reach me by phone and mail regarding my contact with them. I've received no such contacts and did not place a call with any office that would not identify themselves properly, so I wrote this off as bogus.

I don't have any outstanding debts, inheritances or other claims.

It went to a number that always goes straight to voice mail.

They call my house everyday and leave messages.  I tell them to stop calling or I will sue and they just keep doing this.  The sad thing about it, It is not about me.  They say the same thingOur law office had made several attempts to reach you by phone as well as by mail and we have received no response. This matter warns your immediate attention and requires your response TODAY! Contact our office at 1-866-618-5732 and refer to case #...."

I've logged on to this post and the more I read it, the more disappointed I became in the way this site is being used today. There seems to be so much animosity  I personally wanted to point out a couple of things, however, let me apologize in advance, as I tend to get a little wordy at times.  I think this site is a very useful tool in discovering who is calling your phone, day and night, and not leaving a msg.  I am a firm believer that if it's a legitimate call, a message will be left for the intended.  That being said, I want to tell you all to BE LEERY OF SOME OF THE COMMENTS YOU READ. SOME COLLECTORS HAVE DISCOVERED THIS SITE.   I SEE THAT A COUPLE HAVE LOGGED ON TODAY.  Though it’s not very hard to figure out which comments they’re making here.
Note: As I said, this post is much longer than I’d planned so even if you don’t have time to read it, please check out the two websites at the end of this post.

In this post, there seemed to be a lot of name calling (illiterates) and a lot of finger pointing (debtors are low lives who won't now, and have never had any intentions of paying their bills).  I am neither part of a law firm nor a collection agency, but am indeed a debtor.  I won't blame that debt on anyone but myself. But just because I owe, doesn't mean that I should be harassed constantly, my friends, family and/or employer should be told my business, and/or I should be talked to (at) in a nasty and condescending manner.  My take on those collectors who behave in that manner is exactly as described above.  A bunch of low-lifers, mostly uneducated (you've got to admit... even the so-called MED student has very poor grammar) bottom feeders. I do realize, however, that they are trying to make a living as well. I just believe that MORALS would not allow a decent and/or educated person to pull some of the tactics that they’ve pulled.  However, I must admit that I am all for them continuing to do so because they are breaking so many laws, we (the consumer/debtors) will soon be able to put them out of business.

The debtor is educating him/her self these day and I said KUDOS to us all.  There are rules, laws and regulations (check out the FTC - Federal Trade Commission @ ftc.gov regarding LAWFUL collections practices) that when not followed, we can take action against the offenders, and possibly be paid large monetary damages. Also be selective of whose advice you take from this site. I believe a lot of those saying "you'd better call the law firm back because they can take your....." are some of those collection agency employees, trying to meet their quotas and/or some of those DESPERATE law firms who loan out their names for a "piece of the pie" (a percentage of whatever the collector can scare the debtor into paying).  They come on this site and spew nonsense hoping to scare a few people into agreeing to deal with their unethical companies. This is done for no other purpose but to increase their profits and put dinner on his/her table for that night, at the expense of your family’s meal.  I tell you, if you don’t get something in the mail from these folks (remember, in most cases, they have all of your information, including your current address), I’d suggest not dealing with them at all.
There is a new scam I’ve heard of just recently. These bottom feeders are getting info from your credit reports regarding old (sometimes outdated) debts; and/or items included in (covered by) a discharged bankruptcy; and/or a bad debt write off, etc.  Please do not deal with these people, and never, ever agree that you owe them a dime; or give them any personal information, or wire money to them, as legitimate companies will put payment arrangements in writing. And finally (and most important), I beg of you, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION.  Once they have access they can clean you out!  Make them PROVE the debt, because if they can’t prove the debt (via a contract, your signature on original documents, etc.) then they don’t have a leg to stand on.  Also, make sure that these bottom feeders even have the RIGHT to collect on that particular debt (check the statute of limitations in your state (the state in which you incurred the debt) which can be found on the COLLECTORS EXPOSED site mentioned below.
Reminder: As I stated earlier, I am not an attorney and am not giving legal advice, however, I’ve been going through a financial crisis for the past couple of years now (just as probably half of America has) and the bottom feeders didn’t want to work with me, so I don’t even try anymore.  So the longer they harassed me, the more I educated myself (boy, education is a powerful tool!), and the more I read sites like these, the less anxious and fearful I became.  I am posting as I hope this will help others who are having sleepless nights, losing your hair, having anxiety attacks and being made to feel like total losers just because you’ve fallen upon hard times and have wound up in this position of not being able to pay your bills on time.  In most cases, if the companies would reverse those “late” and “over the limit” charges (that they can tack on, legally, for an additional six months, before they have to write the account off (yes, it’s true—another thing I learned by educating myself on some of these laws, rules and regulations).

Look, I’ve talked much too long and therefore a lot of folks won’t even bother to read this (I told you I was long winded at the beginning of this post ), but if this helps you, please pass it along to others as well (pay it forward).
Please take the time to visit the following sites and educate yourselves on the law. I guarantee you that it will help to relieve some of your anxieties.

A NOTE TO ALL THE BOTTOM FEEDING BILL COLLECTORS: I intend to help educate as many people as possible, so if you intend to stay in business and make a living from it, you’d better start following the ‘collection’ guidelines, OR you can kiss those minimum wage positions you hold GOODBYE… very soon!  So “Don’t hate… cooperate” (Sorry, I had to throw that in 

A NOTE TO LEGITIMATE COLLECTION AGENCIES: Most of us want to pay our bills. Please try to work out something affordable with us. That way we’ll all benefit.

Again, I apologize for the lengthy post.

BTW- If you're in Med School, why are you even on this site, checking out the 800 number? Are you still the scum working for the bigger SCUM? And most likely for crumbs. You don't need to be here, Mr. Med School. You can only assume (by your post) that you can (and have) paid your bills - otherwise, you wouldn't have the NERVE to come onto this site slamming folks. Why are you even interested in those people who are not paying their bills on time?? I ask again, WHY are you on this site?  Did you get a call from 866.618.5732?  Or are you one of the bottom feeders calling us from that number?? You should have better things to do than to be bothered with us lowly "scam" (as you put it). You should be out performing surgery, or saving a life or something. It's just so hard to believe that you'd take the time from your busy MED SCHOOL life to come onto this site just so you could feel better about yourself by slamming others! Get a life, and get off this website. We don't want to listen to you... I'll bet you can't even stand listening to yourself (or those other voices you're hearing in your head).

You're such an inbredm threats to garbish wages---lol---the U.S. government is the only entity that can garnish wages. These uneducated collectors that can't get a legitimate job and work in temporary locations ready to "run" at a moments notice cannot by law garnish anything. When trying to "scare" someone atleast know what you're talking about fool.
