The message was such as follows:

"Hello my name is Kathy, and I'm trying to reach   XXXXXX (my son's name).  Have him give me a call at 866-618-8686, ext. 2824."

We do not have caller ID, only an anwering machine.

This phone number belongs to Harris Bank. I don't know what department, the lady who left a message only said to call back Harris Bank, did not give out an extension number or department.

This number contacted my work asking for me. A coworker relayed the message to me. Caller was a man named Jeff who said I would know why he was calling. I called them back and the person I spoke with said he would relay the message. Now just waiting.

Looks like a new trend by the posts.  I also received a call today at my work!  Not happy about this!   Leave me your name so I know who I can ask for when calling back.

This is a collection company.  They leave a phone message but dont say who they are, and when you call them back, they answer like its a personal number.  When you ask who they are, they ask who is calling.  It took a minute of back and forth, but found out they were doing collection for ATT, with which I have an ongoing dispute for UVerse service (which stinks BTW).  ATT customer service is AWFUL.  I must have spent more than 10 hours on the phone talking to at least 15 different people dealing with install, porting, billing, and other issues.  Their product isnt worth it at any price!

Just called BMO Harris to verify the number...it is their collection department.  Not a scam

I got a call from this number, but didn't pick up. I believe this is BMO Harris's Number. I have an ongoing dispute with them. So you can safely pick up call when you get it from this number.

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't have any loans with BMO> I called BMO and they said it is not there number. All the people saying it is BMO are liars and work for this scam outfit

A phone call with Indian accent from 1-866-618-8686: " hello, are you xxx, this is a phone call from zzzz bank. Are you xxx?". He was trying to figure out my name. He also said his name is Martin.

I just got a call at 7:20 from these idiots. First off, I checked. It is BMO Harris's phone number. I told the operator to remove me from the calling list. He started fishing for a name. I told him to remove me from the calling list. He said he needed a name to "verify the account" which I do not have. I told him bull$&@! and remove me from the calling list. He asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, which I said yes. After a few minutes, the manager came on, and I told him to remove my number from the calling list. He then tried to fish for a name. I told him to just remove me from the calling list, giving the number. He finally did so, so if I get another call from them, they will get another, much less polite call back.

You are mistaken, it is their number I have a loan with them and I've used this number to contact them several times.

Just got a call, left no message and if everyone on here is right about it being Harris Bank's phone number - I don't have anything to do with this bank, no loans, no open accounts so IDK why they would call me.

I get a call from this number, not sure if this is BMO or not but they never leave a voice mail and my phone reads the number as scam likely.

BMO sucks. They call all the time and never leave a voicemail. Thank god I am refinancing my loans with a different company.

no - it IS BMO, but they do make you feel like you committed highway robbery just to get a bit of info.  This is a horrible way to tell you if you're over your limit - which we weren't b/c we made a payment that morning.  Once she found our confirmation #, she apologized but WTF.  I don't have time for this crap with our business

Yes, some  one called me saying  he is from Harris bank. He wanted to verify my information. So he started asking me my name, address,... I stopped at address and said that I am receiving lot of phone calls. So I do not want to give any further info. So he said, if  do not believe me then call BMO harris bank at 866-618-8686, this is regarding to your loan.

This is BMO Harris's phone number (if you call it back).  I called a BMO Harris branch personal banker to check on it on behalf of my business because the bank was calling and asking about employees.  Unacceptable.  It appears that a company is using BMO's # to disguise themselves when they call... to get personal data.  But if you call the # back it will be BMO's collection office.  I think BMO should shut the # down or figure out who is using it (if they can).  There is no legit reason for the employer calls... the people they were asking about either had no loans or were not past due.  I can't believe that BMO's collection office isn't overwhelmed with callbacks and should have figured this out for themselves.  It is a broken world.

Definitely not BMO Harris! If you call their real number, they will not know this number. Why else would the same number leave the other messages noted in the thread?

It is a scam in capital letters!! You can buy gadgets that can make a # show up from a bank or anywhere!! If you call any local branch of bmo harris they will tell you this call isn’t coming from their office!! If you fall for it... It’s your own fault!! You have been warned by plenty of people!! Branch managers themselves will tell you its not bmo calling you!!
