- JoeThis is legitimately from Visa Fraud Prevention Services. They called me today when my husband made a purchase from the Czech Republic. It is not a scam. You're only entering information that they have already given you, to a recording so no harm done. I'm glad Visa is watching my card so closely!

- ScottIt's legit. This is the service UCCU uses for Visa Fraud Prevention. To those that are saying it's a scam, my guess is you didn't call and find out it's an automated message about a very specific, very recent purchase, and it just wants you to verify that the purchase was made by YOU before releasing the funds. They've called me a few times over the years and every time it was for online purchases. Like Joe, I'm glad they're watching. The verification is quick and not an inconvenience at all.

- T.Its Legit. First I checked my online account, and didn't see anything, so then I called my Credit Union, and they said it was legit. I called back, and someone has tried using my debit card. Dang. Now I have to go get a new one. At least UCCU contacted me.

- CHECK WITH UCCU FIRST !!!! replies to CodyI recieved a call from this number requesting information concerning one of my credit cards. They stated that they to verify some recent transactions with me. The funny thing was the credit card in question was one which was cancelled by UCCU last year because of a Home Depot system hack. I certainly haven't used that card recently since I shredded it nearly a year ago. I approached UCCU about it, and they confirmed that the credit card was not in their system any longer. Furthermore, they said if they ever needed to contact me about questionable transactions they would use their own number 801-223-8188. Always best to double check with UCCU.

- Juan PabloIt is legitimately from UCCU. After reading the feedback here, I called UCCU at 801-223-8188 and they verified the number. The CS rep was able to help me verify fraudulent activity on my debit card and got things squared away.

- Tygerkat replies to AubreeYou could just call the number on the back of your card and find out right away.
- CensoredThey called and left a voicemail on a line that is not affiliated with my account.
The automated system asked for the case code, and the last four of SSN. It then informed me of the charge amounts and the vendor names and asked me to confirm. I opted to talk to an operator, and they asked for the full credit card number, address, name, last four of the SSN. While I was providing information, I searched the UCCU websites and was unable to verify the phone number and terminated the call before providing the SSN.
I called UCCU, and they were unable to verify the authenticity of the phone number and informed me that I should call the number on the back of the card whenever there is suspicion of fraud.
What's strange is that following a few online purchases (amazon) this morning, the card disappeared from the UCCU CardApp. I confirmed the amazon purchase, and was hit by four repeat charges from amazon for the same order. And triplicate charges from another online reseller that I now need to dispute as a result of them deactivating my card this morning.- Caller: UCCU Visa Fraud prevention

- an employee of UCCUnot legit. UCCU will automatically call you, not send you a text asking for you to call them. When in doubt, call the number listed on UCCU's web page or the number on the back of your card.

- Call uccu| 2 repliesAgain, as many are saying on here, it's frightening when a company's claiming to be a part of fraud prevention and wanting certain information when it's an automated message.
I went ahead and called the number on the back of my card instead. Talked to an operator. They told me it is real, legit.
They went ahead and checked and my card was fine.
If you are ever unsure just go ahead and call your bank even if it seems or you are told it's legit.- Caller: Uccu fraud prevention

- Tygerkat replies to Call uccuIf you called the number on the back of your card and they told you "it is real, legit", why are you here? Do you often look up known phone numbers when there's no logical reason to do so?
- Nimrod replies to Call uccuEven if this number is used by a third-party company doing fraud prevention for credit unions and banks, it does not mean that scammers are not spoofing the number to steal financial/identity information from people.
This is a very common tactic of scammers.
Since you state "my card was fine", it is obvious that this is the case with the call you received. - No oneDefinitely fraud. Don’t even have a card with this institution and I believe the ones saying it’s legitimate are part of the scam.

- The Ron| 1 replyI received a call from this number after attempting to pull money from an ATM. The card was declined. I was surprised, then got this call. I thought it was just routine, but when I selected my zip code, it said "that is incorrect" and then I hung up. I called UCCU -- they confirmed the phone number was legit. I confirmed the transaction that was declined with the main customer service rep, but then I proceeded to get two more calls 6 hours later from this number. I thought it was already cleared by talking to customer service, but apparently not. This does not feel legit, there is no mention of this number on any UCCU website, and the person on the other end even sounded like the scammers on Pierogi's YouTube channel. UCCU needs to do better with helping its members know about this.

- MikeHuntleton replies to The RonConsidering the mixed reports on this number being valid or not seems reason enough not to trust it. I couldn't find this number published anywhere, so I would not put any trust into it.
Never trust the caller to be who they claimed and always call the number on the back of your card to be certain you are talking to your bank. - post pending moderator approval
