- B| 2 repliesThis is a "microsoft security" scam. They have a popup injected in some websites that insists you call the number. If you do, they'll talk you through the process of taking over your machine and extorting you for a lot of money while claiming they are removing a virus or some other BS.

- Burch replies to BJust happens to me, I was doing research and it came up making a lot of loud beeps. Thanks for the heads up.
- Glenn CUsing my laptop last evening and got this same loud beeping noise as described above and scared the crap out of me. Called the number just so I could see what was going on but it had my computer locked up for at least two or three minutes until I simply repeatedly backed out of it and closed the internet explorer down. Never did get anyone to answer the number though. Put me on eternal hold so I couldn't tell them what I thought of them.

- MikeJust happened to us also on 04/13/2016 approx. 11:00 AM - Warning sound with telephone # telling you it was a Microsoft windows 10 issue & to call ASAP to connect to a Microsoft technical to get corrected. Only way we got out was Ctrl - Alt - Delete. Shut down & restart seems to have worked OK. Site was on Adv. on Taste Of Home site.
- MaxI also received the popup and used CTL-ALT- DEL to get out. I have not rebooted yet so when I went back to Win10 it came right back up. Will try the reboot to see if it goes away.

- KimGlad you folks are out there, this just happened to me, too. I shut down immediately waited a few minutes and rebooted. It was still there. I tried closing the window and "OKing" it away, neither worked. I shut it down again. Whatever you do don't go looking for a place to get 2 x 2 inch photos that aren't for a passport. Geesh, I was having such a nice evening.
