- puzzled consumerI have been getting numerous phone calls from Colorado, Nebraska and a few in Florida. When I say numerous, I mean 200 a day. I live in Nevada and the calls have been coming to my mobile phone. I have talked to a few of the people calling, they are calling 866-629-4704 and think that they are responding to a phone call that they received from Porter Hospital located in Denver Colorado. What all of these callers have in common is that they were all patients of Porter Hospital within the last 12 months. I did my due diligence and called my mobile cell company and told them what was going on and they created a ticket so that they could make sure that there was not a issue on their end about maybe something about call forwarding. There was not. In the meantime, I talked to some more callers and got enough information together to call this Porter Hospital myself. I spoke with a receptionist over the course of about 40 minutes, whom she relayed the information to a Manager named Katy and they both assured me that "yes, a survey was pushed out through their system and that they would double check everything and get back with me. In the meantime, I was told that their was nothing that my mobile cellular company could do about the call forwarding issue from their standpoint because it was nothing in their system, but they could change my phone number if I like. Why should I change my phone number that I have had for over 15 years? and I use it as a business number. I called the Hospital back and tried to talk to whom I was told on the previous interaction was the Business Manager, Katy, and I was told by the receptionist Gail that it was nothing on their end either. Gail did seem concerned that I had all these 303 and 720 area code phone numbers, along with the patients name and tried to explain to me that because of HEPA laws now that I could be in violations. I was appalled. I slowly explained to Gail that I was not the one making the phone calls to the patient, but the I was merely answering my own personal cell phone and the phone calls were incoming and then asking how and why would I call these patients. They were calling the 866 number and that the previous patients had no idea that the calls were being rerouted to a cell phone located in Las Vegas Nevada. When I tried to suggest that possibly the forwarding number was rerouted to my number by mistake because my area code is 702 and one of Denver's area codes is 720, I was hung up on. I called back and stated my name and apologized for having the call "drop" and I was hung up again on. Well, I am still getting about 100+ calls a day and I am letting them now go to my voicemail. My voicemail states my name and if you are trying to get ahold of me, please leave the information so that I can call you back . . . but if you are responding to an automated call that you received from Porter Hospital and to call 866-629-4704, please do not leave a message because this is someone's person mobile number and they have made a telecommunications error and refuse to correct it. If you want to respond to the right number, call them directly at 303-778-1955 and ask for Gail or Katy. I figured by the time that these two employees of Porter Adventist Hospital located at 2525 South Downing Street, Denver Colorado started filtering these calls that they would do the right thing and look to see where the mistake was made. It has been 9 days since the calls have started and they are still coming in strong, but not at 100+ anymore.
