- MonicaMessage on my cell number from UNKNOWN who left the number 866-629-7061 in their message about pending civil complaint will be filed in my county. I never spoke with them. Don’t have to because it’s a huge red flag for scam artist. I take care of my financial and legal affairs and none require any civil matter or need litigations. In the message they stated case number FL 17882. That FL case number number is a red flag. And that they sent me legal documents prior to which I did not respond. Another red flag. I tend to all legal matters with utmost importance always. I received no such documents. I suspect Lisa who left the message on behalf of Ales? and associates as scam artist. They even had the audacity to leave a similar message on my brother’s cell phone. That a new tactic and another red flag. They won’t be hearing from me, EVER. They don’t scare me. Don’t let them scare you trying to sound legitimate. When the courts notify me officially by mail I’ll respond.

- MJThe voice mail left on my cell said they had my number as a contact number for (another person's name was mentioned). I have never heard of the person they mentioned. The caller said her name was Karen Parker from Ellis & Associates, in Monroe County, and said there was a pending legal matter (for the aforementioned) and she referenced a case file number.

- KG replies to Mac| 1 replyI just got the exact same call. David Graves with Ellis & Associates 866-629-7061. Case CV181758. Left a message saying I had 2 hours to call them or they would be filing against me. I have no outstanding anything. These people are awful. I'm tempted to call them and just string them along- but I have actual things to do.
- KG replies to KGThey just called my sister and told her they were "looking" for me...these guys are awful. They are calling on behalf Nation Wide Legal and "filing" in Dallas County.
- Jenny GrayThey left a message saying they were trying to reach someone with my maiden name & it was out of some county I never heard of & never gave a state. Telling me to forward the message. I don’t even have anyone in my family by that first name - seriously they picked a different name. All the common names in my family & they pick a different name that I know (I’m the family genealogist so...) isn’t in my family. Totally not legit.

- Rob In FloridaCalled from a restricted number, left a voice mail about pending litigation that I've apparently failed to respond to. I decided for the sake of everyone coming to this page that I'd call back and find out their tactic. Quickly answered and actually sounded like a person picking up a handset (not a call center). Asked me who called, who I needed to speak to, I gave the case number and was put on hold. Stated it was regarding civil judgement, I asked what in regards to and was met with a rude "Sir, there's a process to this, are you in a hurry?" I said go ahead, then was immediately put on hold, again. I'm guess she was fielding multiple return calls and juggling us all the same? Transferred to Christopher Reed (stated the previous person said I was being difficult, I explained I was not). He was actually well spoken and generally polite. He said this was regarding an account with Santander Consumer, for a repo of a vehicle. I asked for some details and was put on hold again while he got the full case file. He came back on and stated that he thinks they may have the wrong person as the driver license stated an age of 70 and I didn't sound that old. I confirmed and he stated the middle name, which is not mine. He said he'd get my number removed and apologized.

- Bridgette in MNRec'd voicemail from private number with woman reading off a script re: a civil lawsuit filed in my current county of residence, stating it is the second and final notice before legal action is pursued. Said I needed to call # by end of today. I am extremely skeptical and alarmed by this message, considering I never received any type of notice for any legal issues regarding anything. I wasn't going to bother calling, but wanted to find out what kind of scam this could be.
I called the # and a woman named Sarah James stated she was in California working for Schaefer Ellis Associates law firm and that they only specialized in civil suits. They actually had my social security number along with previous addresses in their possession, supposedly from a debt collection agency. They claimed I had a credit card I quit paying on that I definitely know I never had. They stated I would be getting an official summons to appear in court by our local law enforcement agency in 7-10 business days. I inquired why I never received any notice re: this matter before and requested they send the information to me via mail. They refused to mail any info, stating it's now a court matter and it would be a waste of time for them to do it.
I am extremely alarmed that these people have my information and it's apparently from something my husband and myself have not had in the timeframe given. This seems like a scam, but it is extremely dangerous if they have your actual information. I really don't know what else to do about this at this time. Just wanted to put this here for others who may wonder what this is/could be.- Caller: 866-629-7061

- Melissa TI too received a call from Ellis & Associates. Caller was "Cynthia" and she left a voicemail using my previous married name. She said that there was a pending civil suit that was going to be filed against me in Douglas County, CO. Even left a case # that I was to reference when I called back. Pretty much the same speel everyone else on this page has written about. Unanswered documents, judgement will be filed, must call by the end of business today, etc. Had me really worried as I have been remarried for over 16 years and have not lived in that county in over 20 years. My husband also got a call in reference to this issue. I have no idea how they got all our information, but I'm glad I researched the phone number before returning the call.
