Called a relative - threatening to file legal action? Called the number back - thick indian accent and wouldn't state the name of the company.

What do you do in this situation?

Received a phone call from (302-212-0181) a rude gentleman asking for a family member of mine & stating there are charges being brought up against them. The man told me to have my relative call the 866-635-2055 number to stop any further action against them. While on the phone, I googled the numbers. I told the man that I looked the number up & that I knew it was a scam, he got irritated. I told him not to call my number again & that if he did, I would call the police. He started making threats & statements like, "if you don't want to help your friend, you can visit them in jail", "go ahead, call the police, you are the one withholding information" & "I will continue to call you & will leave messages on your voicemail with this information. I told him I was contacting the police at that point & hung up. He then called back, 5 times, back to back. I answered but did not say anything. Finally he stopped calling. Please be careful & do not fall for these dirtballs lies.

They call from a 603 number and screamed at me in my voice mail using my middle name. They also called my family members and told them that if I did not call the 866 number back I was going to jail and that I had two accounts of fraud.

Got a call and when I told them I knew it was a scam they called everyone including family that I do not talk to. Called from blocked number. Told me to call 866-635-2055. Atlantic is the name of the company they used. I spoke to "David Jones" and "joann Simpson". (anyone else notice they always use common last names LOL.

Just annoyed they are calling my family. I told them if I committed a crime they don't let you PAY to get out of it and I have never committed a crime!

Same thing happened to me except this time the "call back number " was 866-231-0168.  This company called "Atlantic" has a fake "processor " call from a local throw away untraceable phone.  In my case the name of the person was "Joann Simpson" calling from 614-245-5749 they claim to be a legal representative from a business (that she can't give you that name of) that is going to have you arrested in your local county UNLESS you call this 866-231-0168 number.  When you call this number they continue this illegal scam pretending they are a legal agency and again won't tell you who they are what you are being charged with etc... UNLESS YOU PAY THEM with a credit card!  I ended up cussing out "david jones", however they continued harassing me by calling my work and my relatives.  This is absolutely illegal.  Contact your Better Business Bureau, your states Attorney General, your local police and any other agency if anyone can pinpoint also if this is actually Atlantic Credit and Finance
