Sirius Satelitte has called almost daily since our "free year of service" that came with our new vehicle is up - about 2 months ago!

When this number comes up on our caller ID, I do not answer the phone.  However, then our answering machine comes on with the message:  If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try it again.  (Repeats this message with a very loud beep, beep, beep.) Quite interesting that I am not the person trying to make a call.

I receive this call every single day! Sometimes more than once per day. It began on the weekedays during the day when I would be at work. Then on the weekends, even as early as 10am. Now the evenings as well and they never leave a message! It is driving me crazy!

This company won't stop calling even after you talk with them and let them know you are not interested.  Any ideas on how to stop the calls?

Yep, they call me everyday also...it is very upsetting, even after I told them to remove me from the list. They also overcharged me, so I dropped the service.

Sirius Satellite renewal hotline. These people have been calling me daily for a couple weeks. I purchased a car with three months free service, which is not due for another 20 days. Sirius has had my credit card for automatic deduction since I started this service and have no reason to call me. I have made five calls to Sirius in the last three days to make this stop and I continue to receive one and sometimes two calls a day from them. Each time I call Sirius, I am sent to someone who barely speaks English, who is very apologetic and states they have removed me from the call-list. My phone calls to Sirius are apparently being ignored. I am currently building up information about these calls so that I can call the Attorney General and the FCC. If you continue to have unsolicited phone calls from Sirius, call the main line at 1-888-539-7474 and specifically ask for a supervisor to complain. Make sure you are documenting everything.

Yup, its Sirius. I say "No, not at this time and please remove my number from your calling machine system" they say "they can't, its policy". Honestly I was thinking maybe after the Christmas crush but now its "No" in granite. "How to turn away future possible customers by Sirius". And yes they keep calling !!!

-- Call them back at 866-635-5025.
-- Do not give them your name and phone number. Demand theirs first. They called you.
-- Do not let them put you on hold.
-- Demand to speak to a supervisor.
-- If they laugh or are rude, curse and threaten them. They'll hang up. Call back again. These people are harassing you. You have a right to inflict severe punishments on all of them.
-- Insist that they turn off the automated calling system immediately. If they do not comply then call them back again and again to keep threatening them until they stop. Waste as much of their time as you can spare. You're doing a valuable public service for America by this.

Like cops, it makes you wonder: why don't Islamic terrorists bomb Sirius and other telemarketers? I, like many Americans, would convert to Islam if they did.

My number has been on the National Do-Not-Call (DNC) list since they create it. Some moron decided to put an expiration date as if we would magically change our minds after 5 years and decide that telemarketing harassment was acceptable. So, I listed my number DNC again in October.

I still get telemarketing calls. It's a public service to keep them on the phone as long as possible. Pretend to buy their crap by giving them a bogus name, promise to mail a check, or give them a bogus credit card number.

Here's how to give a bogus credit card number:

    1. Use only the first two digits of your credit card to make it seem legit.
    2. Make up numbers (use some 3s and 8s) for all the rest giving them the same number of digits.
    3. Make up an expiration date within the next four years.
    4. Act surprised when it doesn't go through. Gee! What could be wrong?
    5. Oh, that three I gave you is really an eight, and so forth.

Telemarketing must be abolished. All telemarketers are crooks and worthless lying scum who deserved to be tossed into a latrine pit with the rest of the sewage. We can start by giving them as much grief as possible.

I just received my first call from Sirius on my cell phone and didn't answer.  When I tried to call them back it rang about 12 times and went to a busy signal.  I don't even have Sirius radio.  My car came with XM Radio.

I agree with the person that said DO NOT let them put you on hold!!!  They do so and after several minutes the call drops.  There is NO reason for them to put you on hold!  Unfortunately I have another subscription that my mother gave me for Christmas that is in her name, and all I wanted to do is to get my name removed from their database, because obviously if I'm already a subscriber they don't need to keep harassing me to subscribe!  She prepaid a year for me, but you better believe I will NOT be renewing it when it comes due at the end of this year!!!  What scum!

The only real way to get any telemarketer, or debt collector for that matter, to stop calling, is to write to them.

Find their address on the Contact Us page of their website (for debt collectors, just google their phone number again, the same way you found this page).

Include your name, the DATE, your phone number (they already have it, and they need to know who to stop annoying), and a statement demanding they cease and desist all calls to your home, or all contact period (i.e. by mail or email as well) if that's what you want.  Send it registered mail if you're particularly annoyed and paranoid they won't get it (and especially if you're planning on pursuing legal action).

With a debt collector, there's more to put in the letter, but... I'll leave that for another page.

At any rate, once it's in writing, they are legally obligated to comply, or they can be fined up to $1000 per call.  If you DON'T write though, they do NOT have to comply.  They can just ignore you completely.  Ostensibly because they can deny you made that request.  In writing though, you have evidence.

Stupid tactic?  In my opinion, yes.  but, much like spam, if it wasn't working with enough people, they wouldn't do it.  I wish I could choke the morans who actually buy stuff from spam, but... that's a whole other story.

They called two days in a row and I called them back and said stop calling me! They said they put me on their "do not call list". I doubt there is such a list. I probably got routed to some  nightmare call center in India. God help them if they call my cell phone again, it's also my buisness line since I'm a consultant. I will send that idiot Mel Carmison emails every day and call every day until I get to him.
